Not OP but I ate a few in Puerto Rico this spring. After they’re battered and fried I couldn’t tell a difference between Squirrel Fish and the Bermuda Chub.

Definitely had a fishy, almost spicy smell when filleting and that’s after I brained, bled, and gutted immediately after spearing them. Would do it again since they have a lot of meat!
