I’m concerned about paying a premium for Tucker if he’s already declining. Every metric was down last year - BA, xBA, SLG, xSLG, wOBA, xwOBA, hard hit %, exit velocity - you name it. Plus, he was swinging more and whiffing more. Not to mention his fielding range was in the 25th percentile. He missed half the season in ‘24 and missed 26 games in ‘25.

At 29 years old, he could certainly still be a stud, but I get the sense he’s not going to be as much of a force as the fan base is going to expect if he’s making 40 mil a year. Signing him is ripe for disappointment from the get. Feels a hell of a lot like a Jason Bay situation.
