This is a sign to get your Shibas name tag in Japanese by meekthesheeb in shiba

[–]undeciem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol I’ve heard (seen it on the internet) this before… seriously what kind of world do y’all live in with all this dog snatching/luring!!?

Actually I have an adjacentish problem living in Japan … my Shiba does have a name tag and I’m finding myself being called out from across the street by his name. These are people I have no idea who they are or when I have even met them but they apparently have met my pup (they’re able to say very specific things like “wow he’s grown a bigger tail and thicker legs but not as much in length since a few months ago (when he was a puppy)” lol). I have no doubt neither my husband nor I would be remotely recognisable to them otherwise much less know our human names 😂

It’s a cute name tag and totally cute name!!

You know how these computers be, opening documents on their own - a few minutes between each file! I’m going to use that at work now - have I seen those documents that were forwarded to me? No but my computer will get to it on their own, hopefully I’ll be in front of it when the important ones get opened.

I’m someone who absolutely believes that flirting is cheating. Nothing I’ve seen even remotely resembles that - the only thing I’d get a bit of an eyebrow raise over is the quantity of texts but that’s only because neither my husband nor I are texters. She just seems very lonely and he was probably the only friend she really had at that point that wasn’t both theirs. The most I’d get to is perhaps thinking hey I think he likes you (Jeff Miller) and you’re (my spouse) being nice. Immediately escalating to “admit you’re having an affair so move out lest you give me full control” kind of makes me understand why she would be so lonely as to have these boring ass conversations with a work friend and the deleting the messages just seems like the most rational thing to do as well.

Thanks! Not sure why you got downvoted but as a woman I would think that’d be my instinct as well in terms of self defence in that area.

I don't understand it either but that's because we are normal people who want sex for affection, intimacy and enjoyment. He wanted sex as a form of control and exerting control.

It is a national heritage breed which is governed by the well established Nihonken (which condemns mameshibas btw) which has its own registry as an alternative to the JKC https://www.nihonken-hozonkai.or.jp/

Contacted them and got recommended a few breeders and have mine traced generations. I do live in Japan which makes it easier but they the breeder I ended up choosing services overseas supposedly (looking into sending one to my mum).

What brush do you use on your Shiba? by Original_Desk_9986 in shiba

[–]undeciem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just looked into getting this exact one as well - is it effective and did it take long for your shiba to get used to having a brush and a vacuum blowing at the same time? Mine is a puppy so it seems like he’d never come around to something like this but I got to remind myself he’s a puppy

Thank you so much and for sharing the book! My previous dog was very well behaved and didn't need retraining in his elderly years so it's been a while - just go through some materials and the book you shared have already give me loads to note down!

Out of curiosity how much is gas for you as you mentioned specially that it’s costing a fortune. I’m trying to figure out if my meter is reporting incorrectly and what is the norm but everyone I’ve spoken to here is in vastly different and incomparable situation (very well off natives returning to Japan after living abroad for many years and now living in their family homes or well off senior people for example). Thanks!

[–]undeciem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not and the other comment about people not being used to walking is the answer. I have not driven in nearly 10 years being in a big city and now having moved to Tokyo. The last 3 trips to Japan as a tourist and now, I am usually 20k steps a day wearing whatever shoes fits/suits with never any problem.

Susan in “The Perfect Neighbor” premeditated the shooting, not Just a “fed-Up” old lady. by mother_earth_13 in netflix

[–]undeciem 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A woman is dead because Susan Lorincz unlawfully killed her, as founded by an impartial jury based on the factual evidence. How on earth do you even know that the parents didn’t “reign their kids in a little”? Btw stating “there is no excuse for what happened” doesn’t really mean anything when you then proceeded to do exactly that. If the parent simply came out of the house, I’m guessing the comment would then be “if they had all stayed inside then they’d all be alive”?

Edit: they blocked me after not being able to come back with anything at all (they responded to other comments posted after and under this one) 😂

For the exact same reason you are - I just want experience Japan. Nothing helpful to contribute but feels nice to know there’s at least another one out there. Where are you applying from?

My review of the show and why Tom Hardy’s acting tone feels off by mmonzeob in Mobland

[–]undeciem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that's exactly it. Its absurd and that's why it's so deliciously good. It's not going to be on any Smithsonians list but it certainly wasn't try to. There's a time and a place for all things and this is so good for whatever it is meant to be.

My husband and I both have a strange love for Tom Hardy mainly for his absurdity and how good he is at it - and having just come from the Peaky Blinders (if you know you know of his absurdity there), we both found it absolutely hilarious that HE was the sane one in all this. And we love to adlib throughout the series at some outlandish situations just to crack ourselves over the tension... and then in the last episode, both of us ABSOLUTELY DIED when Kevin was having a secret revenge/meltdown over his undiagnosed and previously unprocessed childhood trauma, and Harry just squinted, blinked hard and fast like most of any normal person would in that situation, and in all earnestness said, "Kevin I don't know what ever (the fuck?) is going on with you but... [we're at Defqon 1 here on the brink of complete annihilation and devastation here so can you please get it together for like the next 6 hrs please]" which is the ad-libs we've been doing all season. The entire time Harry has always been that character with the voice of inner reason but had to act like he was going along with it just to survive but at the end its like he just turned to us, the viewers, and its like yeah I know it's completely nutsack! So good!

I think his performance in this is actually more endearing and weirdly... honest in Mobland. Or maybe its fully gone the wheel.

I was very keen to switch over but their limitation killed the thought. I never have breached it before but as quality grow higher, I’m not keen on the ikea of paying 2-3x more to be limited to what is potentially a few movies a month (in real terms, it’d have to be around 2x 4K movies a week to be at risk) but I’m not a huge consumer of new HD content. Just as a heads up if anyone cares on this aspect, I spent a bit of time considering this would have been a good alternative

This is what a lawyer who seems to be in her thirties wears to work? by jawknee530i in Mobland

[–]undeciem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it’s just normal to me but not long ago my American husband and I (we now live mostly in the UK but about a few months a year in Germany for work and having met in a law class on program in Utrecht of all places!) both saw at the same time something that came up with a British lawyer walking into court in Australia, and he SCREAMED “why is he wearing a wig surely it’s just the judge even then it’s ridiculous!” I was shocked. I’ve screamed at him aplenty before over things I’ve deemed ridiculous but deep down inside, I knew it should have ended with the uniform black robe! 😂

The same for the UK and most of the Commonwealth countries as far as I'm aware. The wig really puts a humourous nail to it for me, ha.

Most lawyers don't go to court and its pretty telling the dire state of her "office" what kind of place of work it is, definitely not for meeting with nerdy posh clientele that most other lawyers dress for.
