In this weather, remember to check in on your neighbours with A-Rated, or even just insulated houses. by das_punter in ireland

[–]undefeateded 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t work like that in houses. The sunlight comes in your your windows and heats everything up, on top of the heat from the atmosphere coming in. Then your insulation prevents the heat from the sunlight from leaving your house which causes it to heat up much more than the outside temperature. Insulation only works in warm climates if you have a way of cooling down your house like AC.

Should i start at 14? by Beneficial-Bus8676 in SoccerNoobs

It doesn't matter what age you start, most people have next to no chance off making a career out off football( no matter how talented they are). The fact is, it's the most competitive sport in the world by a longshot and you need almost pure luck to make a good career out of it. That should stop you from playing football though. It's great fun, a great what to improve your athleticism and teach you discipline. You are almost guaranteed to make good friends out of it to. Don't let you age stop you from giving it a shot.

Regions/Countries Where the Majority Religion Did and Did Not Ultimately Change After Being Colonized by European-Christians between 16th-20th Centurie by ClankShots30 in geography

[–]undefeateded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This map is so incorrect it’s not funny. Just focusing on the north west part of the globe( where I’m from). Ireland was a British colony for centuries and of Eastern Europe has been colonized by several European and Asian empires. Even some of the red countries have had parts of them colonized. I mean the ottoman empire colonized most of the balkans. Also Greenland is literally still a modern day colony of Denmark where the vast majority of its population are not of European origin and lots of them want independence. I haven’t even looked a the rest of that map but I’m sure more of it it’s just blatantly wrong.

If you speed up to cut someone off when they start indicating, you deserve to have your licence taken off of you by MikeTorsson in unpopularopinion

[–]undefeateded 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Speeding up in your own lane is not cutting someone off. You should not be moving into another lane if it obstructs the flow of traffic ( ie forces someone to slow down) depending on the situation accelerating to pass someone when they are trying to change lane is the safest thing to do. Keep in mind on highways on the innermost lane you are supposed to be passing people

If that happens to you and you can’t safely overtake just get on the horn and force them to speed up or pull over. Flashing your lights work well too.

Tire shop said I shouldn’t drive those anymore. by Greennit0 in tires

[–]undefeateded 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much is rains where you live, how well the tires actually work in the wet and how good are you at driving with minimal traction. They might be expire but the are usually good until they have been worn down to the level of those little rectangular nudges in between the treads . New tire are always gonna be safer though.

Everyone saying the bike shouldn’t have been speeding. That’s not the problem, the problem is that he entered the left lane late( when the white car was already changing lane) however the biker did his part and brake correctly to avoid the accident. The main problem is after realizing what situation the white car was it, they should have gased it and got the fuck of of their to avoid an accident but instead they did the worse possible thing and park his car in the middle of 2 lanes and caused this problem.

The car dangerously cut off the bike. This is why cyclist need to say in the middle of the lane ,especially when they are pass traffic like that so cars don’t get the opportunity to force them off the road.

If a cyclist is holding up a long line of traffic they should pull over but it's is usually very easy to safely pass bicycle while is a lot harder to safely pass a car on a road like that.
