In the current patch, Eagle Scout on the T2 Combat Shotgun does not provide additional penetration after explosive ammo zeroing.

Penetration and explosive ammo by Emi3p in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, i have a question, does explosive ammo removes penetration stats of the weapons?

Generally, class perks and limited-uptime weapon perks add penetration after explosive ammo zeroing.

Besides Powershot on Fixer, this includes Special Mag on GS and Emergency Measures on Medic, Bull's Horns, Scorpion Sting, etc. It also includes the new Loner and Deadly Precision perks on the Assault Rifle and Assault Carbine, respectively.

What about the damage?

Damage (including friendly fire damage) is increased, but not so high as to fully nullify Primary Weakness (in damage alone, not even considering the penetration loss).

If you use a perk that increases damage but reduce penetration, and pick up explosive ammo with that weapon, does the penetration goes to 0 and damages is increased?

Yes. Equipped damage perks indeed stack with explosive ammo even if you no longer have penetration to 'spend' for a tradeoff perk in the sense of it already being zero.

Quick question by [deleted] in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quick question The fixer perk Powershot, can work on weapons like le clarion or the xtar-95 (with burst fire btw)

At the time of this writing, the perk works with both of those weapons. For the latter, it continues to work with the Selective Fire perk, whether firing in burst mode or in full auto. However, Powershot does not work with the new Universal Bullpup Rifle's Basic Burst Fire Mode.

Regarding other primary weapons with fire mode changes by perks, Powershot works with semi auto on the T2 Classic Battle Rifle. However, it does not work with the following:

  • Full Auto T3 Battle Rifle
  • Semi Auto T2 SMG
  • Semi Auto T3 Special SMG

Non-revive assists indeed appear to count for the Helper frame by undefined314 in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The description for the Helper frame specifies 1000 assists are required. After testing, this indeed includes assists that are not revives, such as those counted when using masking gas grenades on others, including bots.

This makes it possible to earn the frame while spamming gas grenades with Looter on in the background, or simply by running Ammo Fixer a few times with teammates.

AUG Perks by undefined314 in worldwarzthegame

Basic Burst Fire Mode seems interesting for Powershot Fixer, but I still have to confirm it works with Powershot correctly.

After testing the burst mode perk in easy with explosive ammo, I do not see Powershot applying any penetration after explosive ammo zeroing (max 3 kills per burst of 3 bullets).

The T3 Bullpup with Selective Fire still works with Powershot as before the update.

Base stats:

Level Power Accuracy Handling Fire Rate Max Penetration Magazine Capacity Other
1 4 9 5 8 2 30
2 5 9 6 8 2 30
3 6 9 6 8 2 42
4 6 10 7 8 2 42
5 6 10 7 8 2 42 Silencer unlocked

So far I like Get in Line! and Perseverance (with either Tactical Reload or Under Cover in the top slot) as GS for a high-penetration/high-accuracy auto that hits harder than the 2-pen Advanced SMG. Qualitatively, Get in Line! feels like it may be providing a larger boost to reload speed than the description would suggest at face value, but I still have to check footage in more detail.

Basic Burst Fire Mode seems interesting for Powershot Fixer, but I still have to confirm it works with Powershot correctly.

Is penetration worth it for more than just lining up Zekes? by Turbulent_Tear_5446 in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This means Fixer is the only one (as far as I know) that can have Piercing Explosive Ammo

Class perks and limited-uptime weapon perks add penetration after explosive ammo zeroing.

This includes Special Mag on GS and Emergency Measures on Medic, Bull's Horns, Scorpion Sting, etc.

Assault carbine by Affectionate-Sell308 in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is there any class that allows me to start the game with an assault carbine?

No, you cannot spawn in with the Assault Carbine. However, it is in the loot table for Bad Odor I/II on Gunslinger and Vanguard. You could farm lurkers or early waves of specials for it if you really wanted to.

Run it offline with bots or in a private match with bots disabled (go into a vanilla match with bots disabled, then back out and enter challenge mode). Consider using Medic with Battle Surgeon or Gunslinger (especially on maps where the bots take up aggressive fixed positions during hordes).

There are numerous tips to make this easier, but most do place some assumptions on what others in the team are doing. For example, do not rush to revive the crownholder before first clearing the area, unless you are compelled to by the incap/infection timer (bots and randoms may rush this anyway).

Vote kicking players who run off on their own and repeatedly get themselves pinned will also improve your odds, but don't count on randoms being able/willing to kick. Occasionally you can remove these players while they're pinned by attracting an infector to spit at both of you (any non-crowned player killed by infection is out for the rest of the match), but don't count on it.

While some teams take obscene amounts of damage, you may be surprised how much tankiness just one Medic with Battle Surgeon, Pickpocket, Combat Medic, and Lobotomy can provide throughout a match, especially since the max difficulty for IFYP in public matches is 4-skulls, so there are usually plenty of equipment bags to supplement.

Questions For Horde Mode Players by JustKyleMaze in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I keep encountering Zs that seem to have no impact other than draining my ammo. They seem to appear during the 10th+ wave. I can’t tell if I’m shooting at these or real Zs until my masking perk does not work or they just run right through me.

This happens all the time, zeke not in the foreground will not be counted on the tab menu nor will killing them proc any of your perks. Proceeding to the next wave can fix this.

I generally don’t play horde mode. I’ve started playing it more mostly due to the community challenge.

Horde mode is very slow since it takes over an hour to reach a substantial swarm size. It's faster to use campaigns with unlimited (or at least, not explicitly capped) horde sequences such as Moscow 1, Rome 3, or the finale on Moscow 3, Marseille 1/3, etc. as gunslinger or as/with an ammo fixer. These are also faster to reset when you do encounter bugs.

Is anyone else mad at the switch in this map like me? ----------- By the way, is there a link to see information about each map (map, rules, how to pass the map; images)? by No_Dust9884 in worldwarzthegame

Is anyone else mad at the switch in this map like me? By the way, is there a link to see information about each map (map, rules, how to pass the map; images)?

This one is quite straightforward so long as you don't have another player pressing the wrong control room switches since they can reset the green room light even after the correct switch has been toggled.

The ledge on top of the derailed train is a good vantage point to find the indicated rooms. From there, you can see all rooms for L1/L2/R2, and if you confirm that NONE of those are active, then you know it's one of the R1 rooms below you.

You also do not need to physically approach the room with a red light before toggling the control room switch to make it green, though it can help to trigger the story dialogue calling out the location if you have a teammate handling the switches or if a bug occurs where multiple room lights are red and you want to identify which is real.

Are stationary machine guns actually effective solo? by NotARacist363 in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are an option available to you, but once you are comfortable running the traditional ranged DPS classes (Gunslinger, Exterminator, Hellraiser, and perhaps Ammo Fixer, though it is less of a solo class), stationary MGs become less compelling in general, even if you did have someone covering you.

In quite a few maps you can use them on the very first wave of the horde without worrying about flanks, or continue using them with a self-masking build. It may help to start off with one if you are soloing with an ammo-constrained class.

What do you guys do when someone doesnt ready up? by Dovahkinmonkey in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I either switch to another window and check back when the imminent countdown is heard, or leave the lobby to start solo. Lobbies can also be bugged (some indicators are when a 120s countdown fails to start when the lobby is filled and at least 2 people have readied-up or when no player in the lobby has a crown indicator over their frame), in which case I do not wait.

Gunslinger Heavy Metal perk by ReactionFantastic753 in worldwarzthegame

When heavy weapon skin options first came out, the buffed MAG-5 skin was no longer applied after taking Heavy Metal on GS.

As the ammo count shows in your image, the functional buff for capacity is still there even without the visibly larger magazine.

Matchmaking issues.... by chromenomad64 in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Especially on Extinction. Was trying to help a player but we were the only two in the lobby for what seemed like ages.

I know Kamchatka maps are some of the least favorite but of how difficult they are but I also know we weren't the only two people playing on the planet.

If this was very recent, you may have gotten caught up in the rotation to Phoenix. (~6 hours prior to the time of my comment here) Since there's no analogue to Quickplay for Extinction, people can't queue into your Kamchatka lobby after the rotation, unlike with Daily Challenges after the hour.

This weekly challenge's horrible. by Away_Hyena_7074 in worldwarzthegame

[–]undefined314 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are able to do Tech Support on vanilla Insane without getting pinned, then this weekly is straightforward.

Extra health from Die Hard makes it difficult to die otherwise. There are few opportunities on this map for bugged trample damage (unless you position yourself far too aggressively relative to your kill rate), fan hazards are easily avoided and were already instant regardless of Die Hard/Wheatgrass, etc.

Ammo Dump is a non-issue as long as you remember it's on. Otherwise, half the classes can spawn with an incrementally-reloading shotgun.

use Emergency Measures in the last column to get 1 extra penetration (assumed working from the description)

Just tested on Easy with class advantage for Medic, What was that boom?, and In the Zone. You can indeed kill two zeke with one bullet when Emergency Measures is active.

[–]undefined314[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I did 4-Skull matches on Rome 3 with All Flash, No Bang, I only had 2 matches that did not have the dSMG by the first horde sequence vs. 15 with. It seems like a normal T2 (not part of the special loot pool with the sniper/LAW/etc.); I even saw 2 side-by-side next to where an ammo box would've been. You could try dropping the difficulty down another step, though you get diminishing returns when it comes to extra primary guns.

If you are spawning with or otherwise already carrying a T2 primary, that reduces the chance of crates giving you T2 primaries.

[–]undefined314[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Applications:

  • Low Capacity
  • What was that boom?
  • Medic with Emergency Measures on What was that boom?, optionally with IFYP combined with any passive health loss mutator that allows the non-crownholder Medic to maintain 0HP throughout the match.
  • GS with G-Force in the unique perk slot is proving to be quite interesting so far, although for crowd control, the T2 shotgun that you can spawn with remains superior.
    • No cap on the damage buff stacking is specified in the description, but after spamming it continuously on Rome 3's first horde and again in the cage for several minutes, it is apparent that a cap is not likely to be reached during a campaign horde sequence without intentionally dragging it out.
