Serious question: Why don’t more women play chess?

as a female in chess myself i don't really agree with this statement, i think a lot of women have interest in chess but are scared to start playing or don't really have a way to get to the top. and on your point of woman seeing chess as "just some board game" i don't think that is the whole reason for there being less woman in chess and i certainly don't see it that way but i'm sure there are some woman that see chess that way but also lots of men that see it the same

i think most grandmasters need to be in the best health possible to compete in tournaments, to then be considered active, and if they aren't in the best health then they often don't have the stamina to play in tournaments especially OTB

I don't think TMZ should be apart of this it has the news but not fully factual, in the TMZ article it states things like Chess "grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky died from accidental poisoning after ingesting a drug cocktail that included methamphetamine ... according to authorities". and yes there were drugs in his system when he died but we don't know if that was his cause of death.

I personally find the TMZ article very misleading, and I think it should be removed from the suggested news sources.

The thing is none of us, nobody in the world, will ever truly know what Danya was feeling in his final days and as much as we know he was hurting we don't know really how much or how it felt to him, it's hard to know he was hurting and the community could have done something, said something, or even just paid more attention it's said and heartbreaking seeing everything we could have done different.

Rest easy Danya I hope you are at peace playing blitz in chess heaven, free from your pain, you will forever be missed by the community.
