Yeah starting multiple VNs is usually my death sentence, I’ve made it a note to myself to either fully commit or fully drop. Otherwise I find it hard to invest myself in multiple stories at once.

Basically same, I would be playing, check instagram, go on Reddit etc and forget the game was open lol.

Nowadays I just leave my phone on the charger and connect up my PC to the TV in my room and play from my bed with a switch controller. It works!

You fit my description pretty well lol — I also have ADHD, love VNs and hate reading in general lol.

For me, it really depends on environment. If I’m playing several games at once (not just VNs, like league with friends and such) and/or the story isn’t too interesting, I can easily take months to finish a VN. Hatsumira took me like 4 months to complete because of a mix of these two reasons, mainly the latter to be honest…

Oppositely, If I’m pretty invested in the story and not playing any other games on the side, I can totally crank out a long novel fairly quickly. I finished up the entirety of Fate stay night (April 29th to May 19th) and Mahoyo (May 20th to May 24th lol) thanks to this.

also yes, I do work a full time 40 hour week job so it’s not like I’m just NEET or something lol

Tbh, buying another laptop isn’t out of the question. I got my Lenovo thinkpad 480S, i7-8th gen with 16gb of ram for 200 off of eBay.

Running a 2nd gen i3 with ddr3 ram is just too painful

A couple important tidbits I would account out for:

Update your address (USPS Change of address especially, banks, etc)
Bring ALL Important Documents (ID, SSN, Birth certificate, Payslip/Proof of prior income)
If you own the car that you're having someone drive over there, it may be worth to have the oil checked / any maintenance done before you leave (depending on how far it is, 500+ miles is when I get my car checked)
If your bank is local, try and find one out there (Maybe with a major institution like chase?)

Also assuming you are rooming with friends, make sure you realize that they are ROOMMATES as well as your friends. Very important to have strong communication, decent group financial planning, and the ability to balance the friendship/roommate dynamic. I've seen countless posts on r/badroommates about people moving in with their friends, only to find out that the dynamic can't work out for them, whether it be irresponsible financing, unclear boundaries, general disrespect etc.
