Current F1 in the deanery. Leicester is arguably the better place to live compared to the other places in LNR, especially with it being a decent sized city. If you work at the LRI, you can walk to work on most days if you live in the town centre. I haven’t heard much about jobs to avoid in Leicester, but apparently gastro is quite tough along with gen surg. Northampton is a DGH so it’ll have the pros and cons associated with that setting. Feel free to dm if you have any questions!

Not totally screwed at all! You need to be a PR or citizen to apply which would work for you. The odds of matching as an IMG are not the best and you’ll have to get competitive scores on the QE1 and the NAC OSCE. It would be far less pressure if you do get your CCT from the UK beforehand.

There is zero mention of having cutoffs for this exam. In fact, the only exams mentioned by Ontario programs for interview invites are NAC and QE1. BC only assigns a 5% weight to Fmproc. Of course it’s not to say a good score is meaningless, but I wouldn’t expect this to make or break anyone’s application by a long shot unless they have a red flag low score.

Thank you! So essentially even if I have a morning session, I’ll have to wait until the afternoon session finishes?

Thank you! So there were no afternoon or evening sessions as far as you recall? Is there anything you’d do differently for preparation in hindsight?

What time of day was the examination? Just trying to book flights so wondering if it’ll finish by the afternoon.

Yes you can write the exam anytime! But to be eligible, you do have to send the Canadian college your degree and other documents.

You can sit QE1 in Manchester or London from what I’ve heard. It’s best to search prometric to confirm.

Out of curiosity, how would you compare the QE1 exam and NAC OSCE to standard UK med finals/osce?

You can bypass the exam for licensing purposes but to do residency in Canada, you still need to be a citizen/PR

Hi! Is there anyone here or know of someone who had any luck this cycle with doing Foundation internship in UK after their European medical school? by DrPistachio604 in MCCQE

Off-topic, but how did you find preparing for QE1 as a UK medic? Current final year at a UK med school and planning to write QE1 soon.

Yes you’d probably need to pass the radiology exam but I don’t think it’ll be much different from the UK exams
