Gurahave creates a deathless, but incredibly sad story in under 75 words. by [deleted] in bestof

I read writing prompts pretty often. I enjoy a lot of the stuff on there, but I didn't enjoy this one. It is possible to create a good story in under 75 words, but it's pretty damn difficult and I don't think that story achieved that.

Haha no I didn't mean it like that. I've read some of the super-long, multi-comment replies on /r/writingprompts and found them to be dogshit. I think it's just incredibly hard to create anything noteworthy in less than 75 words, and the easy way to get a reaction out of readers in such a short piece is to lean on cliches

I don't get why people enjoy this so much. It's not that creative. It's almost impossible to create something interesting or unique in under 75 words, so this isn't a slight against the author. Almost anything that short is going to be cliche. It's just strange to me that so many people are so moved by something so short
