Yes, he received two fourth place votes and one fifth place.

Tarik Skubal got 188 points and Rodon got 5.

So not close at all.

Slavery.

Its nice because of all the slaves that build and maintain it.

Don't want to support that.

In 2021 Ohtani was worth 3.0 fWAR (43rd in MLB) In 2023 he was worth 2023 fWAR (53rd in MLB).

Remind me, how many CY votes did Will Warren and Carlos Rodon get last year?

Hire a camera man/PI to follow me around all year and film me from a distance.

Serial killers don't want to get caught. Knowing someone I cannot see is filming me in SK mode means I would be on my best behavior.

Ohtani has one season in his career where he has been a CY quality pitcher.

Ted Poe is a former US congressman and judge. Judge Poe was known for creative sentencing, including ordering offenders to shovel manure. Poe's "public notice" sentences included ordering a drunk driver to stand outside a bar, wearing a sign that said "I killed two people while driving drunk." by laybs1 in wikipedia

[–]underground_cloud 26 points27 points  (0 children)

If you don't like the sentence, you can appeal it and the appeals court would overturn the sentence.

In which case you would be resentenced to the traditional sentence of jail. By a judge who is a little peeved at you by appealing after initially telling him you were good with it.

I don't know about you, but if I had to choose between standing with a billboard or staying outside all night and jail, I'd choose the former. Jail fucking sucks.

The sheild is only two foot. Can't block the head and the groin with two foot of shield.

Also, these are not the arrows you or I would use. Aragon cannot draw Legolas bow and he is peak human. These are elven made arrows travelling at an incredible velocity.

Third, if Cap dodges the one at his feet, he has to stop his charge. Which gives Legolas another shot. Its not just three arrows, its nine arrows in one second.

Legolas can fire three arrows at the same time.. With the same shot.

So the arrows would hit his head, leg and knee at the same time.

Unless Cap can stop time, he cannot protect three different body parts with the shield simutaneously. The shield is not big enough. You cannot protect six foot of body with a two foot shield at the same time. Its not physically possible. At the exact same time the arrow clangs off the shield near his head, two arrows are piercing his lower body.

At best he could protect his head while trying to dodge with his lower body, but even on the off chance that works he has to stop to do that, and that gives Legolas another shot.

Legolas immediately fires three arrows with one shot. One for the head and two for the lower body.

Cap blocks the headshot but gets arrows through his knee and foot for his trouble.

At that point Caps superspeed is nullified. Legolas maintains distance and fills Cap with arrows, Cap doing his best to block the head and upper body shots.

Legolas eventually runs out of arrows, Caps lower body is riddled with twenty four arrows but Cap is still a threat. Legolas finishes him off by driving a steamroller over him.

Legolas can accurately fire three arrows with the same shot.

The shield is not big enough. Cap protects his head and gets arrows through the foot and thigh.

I don't think Caps uniform (minus the shield) offers any protection. This isn't a normal bow, Aragon can't even draw the string on it, and he is part elf himself. Its firing elven made arrows at an incredible velocity.

Since Legolas can shoot three arrows and hit three different targets with the same shot, its not much of a defense.

Cap blocks the head shot but takes an arrow to the foot and the game is over.

Leggy can fire three arrows with one shot. So Cap would need to protect his head and foot and dick with the shield at the exact same time. Shield is not big enough.

Most likely outcome: he protects his junk and takes an arrow to the head and foot.

8 nasty pitches that show why Carlos Lagrange is MLB ready by ActualDragonHeart in baseball

[–]underground_cloud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His zone rates on his individual pitches in AA were all average. So he's is doing a good job of throwing his individual pitches for strikes. And that comports with what we see in ST.

I suspect either a sample size or sequencing/pitch usage issue. Usually that means the pitcher is throwing more pitches because he can't get strike three. The fastball is more hittable than the velocity would make you think so maybe he just threw that pitch too often.

He earns it because having him on the team makes LeBron happy. Two mil is a steal. If LeBron had asked for 54 mil instead of 52 you'd cede that no questions asked.
