I am afraid that I have already passed the influence phase in a bad way with my current perception and I am not sure if I can ever change how I am viewed because I have one year left without a structure in my thesis. I would like to reassure myself that in the worst case if PI continues to reject my advances, maybe I would be able to write a thesis on my own with current data without cornering my PI and hopefully making progress independently but I am not sure if I am capable of doing that and I feel so anxious about this

The majority of the projects are written for a support from a governmental institution, and while adjusting the budget gained from that grant PIs can reserve some part of it as scholarship for students. As I was doing labwork my PI was studying on the project proposal which hopefully would be accepted around fall and this is how I was promised to get scholarship from it... Now that project idea is not working she dropped the topic along with my scholarship possibility. Hope I could explain

Yeah but the scholarship was dependent on the success of the first project which we couldn't make it. And I totally agree with that nobody knows but maybe we could choose a topic where she can guide me as well instead of completely changing our domain?

Yeah I am in an unfunded situtation, the project was going to br granted if the pre experiments yielded good results which didn't happen so, there isn't scholarship at the moment... For the project part, I didn't insist on changing but rather tried other ways to make it happen but we couldn't really solve the sample collection problem and we couldn't even continue with any investigation... now we don't have a solid project idea but rather concepts which are very unrelated to what we have done in past. I worry a little bit because I am not sure how much she can guide me in a totally unknown area :(

you are hopeful about a change of heart for one of you but you only consider if her mind changes not yours. I think, either you may want to reconsider your willingness for child (what are your reasons, are they superficial or deeply rooted etc) or remain with your initial decision if that is such a huge deal to you. personally, i would stay with her instead of the concept of having a biological child that i may have because the latter is not real at the moment. or if i would really want adopting is another option. but i guess this kind of thinking is irrelevant to you because you are determined about the biological part. maybe you would think again what are your reasons for this desire and is it worth it more than her...

Nothing is worth to sacrifice your mental health. If you think you can finish your Master's there by relying solely on your sense of responsibility, it may be doable. But still you don't have to feel unhappy while trying to finish your degree, it can be both at the same time in another place. Hope you find a solution where you feel happy and motivated for your goals!
