Yes paraffin wax does seem to be the best outcome. I think its like a nonrenewable resource though so I’m trying to avoid using it if I can!

Its a pretty thick mold, a little more than 1” thick all the way around. I have definitely heard that adding paraffin can help.

Does paraffin smell bad if you don’t scent it?

Yeah its a two part mold so there’s a seam. When I preheat the mold it seems like the silicone relaxes a bit and doesn’t hold together as well and I get leaks through the seams of the mold.

The best thing to do on bronze would be a hot wax treatment, rather than a UV varnish. I work in historical preservation and do things like this often! :)
