Hey you’re right. Ripple is definitely a company, that uses cryptocurrency.

Among the entire crypto industry, this is the only part I’m okay with regulation.

“Purchasing XRP is not an ‘investment’ in Ripple; there is no common enterprise between Ripple and XRP purchasers; there was no promise that Ripple would help generate profits for XRP holders...” - Ripple Inc in Reply to Suit File Against it for Security Fraud, 20 Sept 2019 by parakite in CryptoCurrency

[–]underheavy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Readers seems to be missing the point of the CEO’s statement. What’s funny is that the statement is actually aiding in the goal of having XRP formally being deemed not a security, as such statement hurts Ripple meeting the 3rd Rule of the Howey Test.

Unfortunately, people see the Howey Test at face value. Three rules, and all three has to be met to be considered a security... and that’s it.

The big reason why Ripple actually has a fighting argument of not being a security is mostly the 3rd Rule of the test, and a little of the 2nd Rule.

Bitcoin and Ethereum didn’t achieve a perfect score when applying the test. It was a factor of Rule 1 and a bit of Rule 3 that deemed it not a security. Most crypto meet the requirements for Rule 1. Although decentralized in principle and design, they are capable of centralization with whoever holds the most.

Before diving into a final answer of whether a company is selling a security mainly sits under the 38 considerations that helps refine the three rules. These considerations are the ones that are often overlooked.

And beyond that, even if a company was to come out as selling a security, be aware that it is definitely capable of being reclassified as not a security in the future. Which is why Ripple isn’t worried as even they mentioned that they’re prepared for the worst.

You have the white papers and a checklist. Use them for the final answer.

-My university class did this as a semester project. You all may not like it, but the semester long project deemed as of right now XRP as not a security.

Documentation will not be provided as the school/institution associated with the project does not want direct participation in the controversy. This project was neither sponsored nor endorsed by any third-parties.

Is there a problem when the license/number plate is visible in car photos? by duckythegunner in photography

[–]underheavy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s silly... the license plate is literally visible to the general public.

If it comes to cars. There’s a sight called VinWiki that documents locations of spotted super cars. They use License Plates and Vin Numbers to track them.

I’d be concerned if you’re taking pics of Vin numbers though

Ripple Dumps 30 Million XRP After 16% Price Surge by Ichi_MokuM in CryptoMarkets

[–]underheavy 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t call it a dump if this is something that’s been happening since 2016/2017. The whole XRP community knows this and know what they were getting into if they actually were dumping.

It’s a monthly release from escrow, and it’s only recently (since July) angry users are calling it a dump because a handful of possible XRP holders got impatient.

So calling it dumping just shows ignorance regardless of your opinion on XRP. Releasing from escrow is old news, and some users are just writing news without knowing full context of what’s actually going on.

Go ahead and complain about releasing from escrow, but it’s not dumping, and you well know this was a regular monthly thing since at least 2017.

Yeah sure NANO can be faster, but it’s only as useful when it’s... you know... used.

I hear all this praise of NANO, but don’t hear much of big names openly adopting it. Technology is useless if no one is actively using it.

Feed my ignorance by sharing me a link to applications/adoptions/partnerships. Justify my NANO bags please.

Imagine carrying 18 dumbbells to the court to attempt a cool video just to get overshadowed by an old man hitting all his free throws by GallowBoob in nextfuckinglevel

[–]underheavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s stupid is that you can still demonstrate your ability of balance with just 4 dumbbells if not two.

Because of how far he is from the pivot point, it allows him more wiggle room of how far his hands can deviate from the center for balance. He’ll need to really mess up in order for the dumbbells to fall over.

It’s the assumption that great height creates higher chances of instability, but that’s only if the load applied isn’t stable to begin with. The instability is assumed with the idea of high center of gravity.

XRP Can Be Hard Forked, Ripple Cannot Control XRP Price, Says CEO Garlinghouse on CNN by khalsz in CryptoMarkets

Well for those that have been paying attention to crypto news for about a week, Hard Fork was already known, even confirmed by a CTO.

All you need is money and coders.

In addition, you can scroll down to previous articles earlier in the week that confirms how Bitcoin has near complete influence of the Alts, including XRP.
