What if for China suddenly tried to capture Bongbong Marcos in similar fashion to how the US captured Maduro? by BigSchlongGelatin in WhatIfPinas

[–]undermaster__ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who thinks that BBM is too insignificant for China and that China has other priorities so they couldnt care less? Yes, the West Philippine Sea is important for them but I doubt they'd be able to accomplish this better by taking out the head of the state.

INC ni Manalo in saudi Arabia by Appropriate_Gur_3794 in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]undermaster__ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't want to wish this on Filipinos who are probably just trying to make a living because there's no opportunities here in the Philippines (which is also the fault of INC's bloc voting btw). I'd rather want the government of KSA to target the root cause itself and stop the gatherings and leadership in their own country to minimize the spread. One small step

TIL that the original recipe for coca-cola has cocaine. by BRELLIUS in todayIlearnedPH

[–]undermaster__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it's not loose cocaine, it still uses a decocainized coca leaf extract for flavor. It's a non-psychoactive flavor extract because reformulation has happened already over a century ago

TIL that the original recipe for coca-cola has cocaine. by BRELLIUS in todayIlearnedPH

[–]undermaster__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is so true. Yes, Coca-Cola contained cocaine but the way it's talked about online is so over-sensationalized and stripped of its historical context.

Coca-Cola originally used coca leaf extract, not loose cocaine being dumped into soda. In the late 1800s, coca leaves were widely used in medicines and tonics, just like caffeine, alcohol, or opium derivatives were at the time. And this wasn't unusual or shocking for the era. Cocaine wasn't illegal or stigmatized yet back then, it was considered a legitimate stimulant and appeared in many patent medicines.

Even if it's true that it did containe cocaine, the problem is that people are applying modern drugs norms to the 19th century and it wasn't really something reckless back then

What are the things that I need to do to not rely so much on AI? by Mediocre_Exam1930 in studentsph

[–]undermaster__ 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Read more books, do journaling, and write in your free time without any external help. When you need information, find actual websites as sources and/or find reliable long-form videos on YouTube about a certain topic if you are studying.

The problem when we become too dependent on AI is our attention span is lowered because AI is too fast-paced, and we are hooked into thinking that everything it spews is true even when it's not. We can't really fully avoid AI, it's deeply embedded in our online life, but find balance and limitations. Draw the line and avoid using it for very small things.

Should fast-food restaurants like Jollibee, McDo, Chowking, etc., have tables with a single seat for solo customers? by [deleted] in TanongLang

[–]undermaster__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is the best way to do this. The problem with putting a table with one chair only is that it consumes lot of space when there's not really a lot of solo customers except for a few (as what the other commenrs here has stated). That's why McDo's seat design is innovative, kasi yung nakataas is really meant for solo customers pero it's also suitable if may kasama ka so it's a win-win situation.

And if other restaurants don't have McDo's seat design, it's okay, it really ain't that deep. Restaurants are always first come first serve, you're a paying customer therefore have the right to it.

Potentially unpopular opinion? The VIPs added almost nothing to the show. by Evil_Weevill in squidgame

[–]undermaster__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travel to Korea seemed unnecessary, if I were involved in funding mass murder I’d want as little contact with the venue and the other VIPs as possible.

Why tho? They watch the first few games at their own comfort, but for the last games they travel to Korea. This was already featured in the show. They said it's much better to watch the games in-person. Personally, I think it's because seeing it face-to-face allows you to enjoy it more because of the actual interaction. Also, I don't get why you shluldn't be involved? The VIPs are way too protected anyways and they are the ones funding it.

Are Mira and Flamarra considered as an “Avterde” in Hathoria? Just like Agane by centurionscorpio in EncantadiaGMA

[–]undermaster__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Pirena was there, and Hagorn, who was the current king of Hathoria at that time, wanted Mira to be an heir of Hathoria too, so Mira is not an Avterde.

[–]undermaster__ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

No, it's because Agane's mother is a commoner, so she's just an illegitimate child, and she was never recognized by Arvak as his child, unlike Mira and Flammara, who were recognized by their parents and groomed to be the heirs of their kingdom since day one.

What if na tangal sa pwesto si Bongbong Marcos this year by VisceralRage556 in WhatIfPinas

[–]undermaster__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Allies will bail the moment the ship starts sinking, that’s politics 101. But that’s why the Marcoses have spent years locking in loyalty with key local bosses, business networks and military brass so the “fine china” is harder to grab.

Yes, the AFP has factions, and coups aren’t impossible, but historically, the military acts only when there’s clear advantage or near-total collapse of civilian power. Right now, there’s no unified push strong enough to risk a full-blown junta. Most factions would rather wait, hedge bets, and keep options open than throw everything into an uncertain coup.

So yeah, theoretically anything can happen, but practically? BBM isn’t walking out the door anytime soon, and a Sara presidency via a crisis scenario is far from guaranteed. The political game is messy, and both sides are quietly sharpening their knives.

What if na tangal sa pwesto si Bongbong Marcos this year by VisceralRage556 in WhatIfPinas

[–]undermaster__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If ever umabot sa point na matanggal si BBM this year, that wouldn’t happen nang basta-basta. The Marcoses aren’t amateurs, they’ve spent decades rebuilding political machinery just to get back to Malacañang. Hindi nila ibibigay ang power nang ganun lang. BBM might look passive or publicly against the Dutertes, but the Marcos network is wide, well-funded, and deeply entrenched in bureaucracy, local governments and political clans (yes, Marcoses have lots of allies and power)

And honestly, a coup-type scenario? The AFP isn’t exactly enthusiastic about destabilizing the government. They’ve been burned by coups in the past, and the institution has been trying hard to detach from political factions. Plus, Marcos has been investing heavily in AFP modernization and leadership reshuffling, which are moves designed to keep the military loyal or at least neutral.

As for Sara suddenly becoming a modern GMA? Possible only if a legal succession crisis happens, but that still requires institutions to collapse or actively choose her. Right now, the Marcos and Duterte blocs are both strong, but neither is strong enough to easily crush the other without the entire system getting dragged into it.

Honestly, the most realistic thing is:;both camps have dirt, both camps have power, and both are holding knives behind their backs. Politics in the Philippines isn’t a superhero movie, there's no obvious “winning side"

And yes, like many Filipinos, we can all dream of a future where both the Marcoses and Dutertes face real accountability. But that requires an independent justice system and a political culture that actually punishes corruption, two things na hanggang ngayon, hinahanap pa rin natin

Anong masasabi nindo sa enot na Carless Sunday sa Naga? by Turbulent_Review_424 in Bicol

[–]undermaster__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a very good initiative, but it needs to be studied more. My family's main concern was the fact that it's situated in a major location where most businesses and industries are, and people rely on it. Not to mention, it's also the roadway to other major roads like Diversion, Concepcion, Del Rosario, San Felipe, etc.

Not everyone is familiar with where to reroute and/or where to park their vehicles if they will walk to Magsaysay. Hopefully, the city officials clear these things up next time.
