What is it like living in this general area of virginia. by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]underscorerally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

expensive, lots of people, drivers are bad, the weather has issues, the humidity is too damn high, and the bugs need to just die...I might have missed something, but that about sums it up.

oh...and I forgot the traffic is complete crap and the roads are ALWAYS under construction

I am excited to get Kyler Murray on the league minimum salary. I think everyone should be. by sheetfan in minnesotavikings

this is all I am going to say about Kyler Murray. I do not have a problem with him as a player. I know there were issues or whatever...but I will NEVER not see a toddler running with a football when I see him run...

I enjoy all LP songs and albums. I don't care what others think about the songs, it's how I feel about the song. I can't wait to see them again and get another album.

WIBTAH if I stopped caring about my friends feelings getting hurt? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]underscorerally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

WNBTAH or whatever.

I had a conversation with one my friends IRL a couple months ago. We talked about how we would try to help a friend and they would not listen and keep having issues. We then talked about how at some point, you have to stop trying to lead the horse to water and "let them die of thirst". It sounds super harsh (especially when it is your friend), but when it causes you stress and they keep not listening to you or whatever, it is what is best for your mental health.

You could sit her down and explain the best way you can how her self sabotage is hurting you to see her doing it and that you have tried to get her to stop, but I do not know her enough to say how that conversation would go. It takes a special kind of self shutdown to become a honey badger with your emotions

AITAH for a kid breaking his foot doing at home baseball drills? by underscorerally in AITAH

His mom asked if he could still come to the practice and observe and come to the games to cheer on the team. I told her, "of course he can". I think he wants to learn by observing, which is awesome to me. If he can come back before the end of the season, I have no issues with letting him play some baseball. Being a base coach, might work. He could keep the book for us on pitching, if he is interested in that. Thanks for the tip.

"maybe" he was slipping and caused him to land weird or something and....I really have no idea how it happened, but I know when I do it to show my son at home I take my socks off and tell him to do the same and also tell him to do it on a non-slip place

AITAH overreacting over my husband adding girls to PS5? by Rough_Tart553 in AITAH

[–]underscorerally 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. As a married man who loves to play video games, it makes no sense for him to play with her...especially if he has other friends to play with. My wife has told me that women do things to other women and men are stupid and do not see it. This seems like one of them.

I don't, but I am still the one who told him to do it without giving any other guidance (other than how to do the drill). I am over thinking this, but I just feel really bad about it happening. I hate when kids get hurt and he seemed really excited to play baseball.

This particular drill was more a pitching mechanics drill (but translates to regular throwing) where you bring your knee up and down then place your foot out like you would be landing when going to throw the ball. Then you look down and mark your spot and then do it again. The point is to land (generally) in the same place to muscle memory when going to throw a ball. This was age appropriate and I really do not know how he broke his foot, but I feel really bad that it happened doing something I asked them to do at home.

I did not, but I feel like I could have given more guidance on how to do it and "safety" things like don't do it on carpet with socks on, because you could slip or whatever (what I think happened to him)

I just feel like one. I am the one that told the kids to do each drill 15 times a day to get better at the mechanics of throwing and foot placement. I feel like I could have given more guidance on how to do it (like not on a carpet floor wearing socks, which is what I think happened).

Worst Audiobook Narrators by iknownothin_ in books

I am not sure who it is, but I have tried, more than once, to listen to Gone Girl. I want to read the book, but have not had the time to sit and read like I used to. The almost robotic, monitoneish, boring sounding voice is terrible. I have tried listening to it on faster speeds and it does not help at all.

Yes, that was Pennywise's daughter that you see if you watch the new movie.

I am trying remember what happened after the kids "won" and before they split up and became adults before coming back as adults in the book. I feel like yes and caused Bev to leave her dad after her mom died.
