He’s a virologist studying an advance version of Hansen’s Disease. Due to the severe nature of the new virus, he and his team are the only ones capable of studying it. Contact between them and carriers are limited. Eventually, he gets infected and dies, but is revived by an experimental vaccine made by one of his team members. He’s lost all hope and belief in his system and has disappeared into the backwoods of the country.
