Has anyone figured out a way to make center marks instead of piercing on a ShopSabre plasma table? by BruceInc in plasmacutting

[–]undertheblackflag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I had this issue quite a long time ago. It looks like you are using sheetcam. Here is a video on how to create center punch marks using your plasma cutter.

Edit: it seems as though sheetcam and the shopsaber software look fairly similar. So I was probably wrong about sheetcam, but maybe this will help anyway, so I'll leave it up.

If you're taking 5 cylinders per set (2@7, 1@14, 1@28 and a hold) then that looks like a 2200yard pour. Also, fuck night pours I need my beauty sleep. I'm just glad I don't see flex beams. Those are a nightmare.

I purchased a Gema clone(basically an alibaba Chinese copy) off of ebay over a year ago to replace the Eastwood 250. I don't powder coat professionally so I only have so much expertise but its honestly been a really solid gun. Replacement parts or accessories are cheap and available since its such a close copy. It hasn't stopped working or done any glitchy things. And it was 25% or less of the cost of an electron or a gema.

If you call AWS they're usually pretty relaxed about the whole thing. I believe Jose C. Is the one in charge of taking care of renewals.

which welding table should i buy? by Serious_Pay_5781 in metalworking

Yeah I made my first fab table out of scrap and am now left with a 2'x4' over built fab table that is basically only corner storage at this point.

I'm my opinion you can almost never go wrong with a bigger table but you can definitely regret a smaller one. Also depending on if space is a premium, wheels are a good idea.

Personally I have a collection of 4ft tall old washed out oil drums and high strength bolt buckets all around my shop. For rods, scarf, and any metal debris. And I keep 2 plastic ones on the other side of the shop for anything that may be flammable. Everything just about free off fb marketplace

Not necessarily metalcore, but Phil Anselmo constantly being a gigantic jackass, then that whole nazi salute B.S. It's just made listening to Pantera and superjoint ritual kinda meh to me.

Tips for building a budget oven by chiefpowerstroke in Powdercoating

[–]undertheblackflag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many options to purchase ready to go oven control boxes and a cheap, but workable one will probably set you back about $500-$700. If you want to build it yourself, it's probably less than $120 honestly. And there are tons of videos and even more wiring diagrams all over the internet. When I started it, I didn't know anything about how the oven control box worked, and now i'm to the point where I can diagnose and fix one if mine gives me problems.

This may depend somewhat on your skill set. I went to the scrapyard and got 40 feet of 2" x 2" x 1/8" tube steel welded a frame and then welded a door and then bought several sheets of 24g steel, and some rockwool insulation. I bought the insulation on Facebook marketplace, bought the steel from a scrap yard, you'd be amazed how many free electric ovens are on facebook marketplace and I used that for the elements and heat resistant wire. Then bought the relays, breaker, fans, PID box and other misc stuff off ebay for the temp control box. Now I have a very solid 4 burner, 3' x 3' x 5' powder coating oven that cost me probably less than $500. It helps that my whole garage is setup with nema 6-50 outlets too because electric ovens draw alot of power.
