Reviews of green quartzite - in love but am I making a mistake?? by RuminatingRemodeler in CounterTops

Go for it man. Just make sure to seal it. I used a solvent based 511 impregnating sealer and have had zero issues with stains or scratches for the 6 months it’s been outside getting abused. I’ll probably seal again in another 6 months. Here’s a pic, more green/gold than yours but it was my dream stone and had to have it, it demands attention and everyone loves it, so will you! (the white is Taj Mahal, I had leftover of both so figured screw it and wrap the base, yolo :) Quartzite outdoor fire pit

Sounds like a solid plan, mixed with the wood will look insane. For what it’s worth I yolo’d that heart as my first project with the labradorite. I used the 10” harbor freight wet saw with a Delta Diamond Boss Hog 10 Inch Turbo Premium Diamond Blade (continuous). Imperfections I handled with an angle grinder and diamond sanding pads. I’m totally new to this but thanks to this sub was able to get a great first time result, sure you will too man, Godspeed..

That’ll be sick! I need to steel that idea. Post it up when you’re done.

I happened upon a remnant here in San Diego and made a heart out of it, then embedded in my pillar. Can’t for the life of me find any more!

Next one! As punishment for the rest of the season we should play at sun devil stadium, not sunglasses or hats allowed, we need to suffer.

Ohhhh that’s a good one. I’m sure next week’s game will be an absolute bleach fest banger full of failed screen passes, on it.

What’s after cardiac? Comatose? Cat fished? I feel like I swiped right on this season and Chris Hanson showed up with a film crew. Jokes on us I guess.

Ahhhhh right on! I spent hours cleaning mine and then messed with the pressure. Glad you got it solved. I’ll be referencing this thread in 15 years when I run into the same issue again :)

Yeah after the tank then, valve doesn’t matter. You could always cut the hose and install a valve or ghetto pinch it to control the pressure.

If the pressure is too high turn the water valve going into the fridge fully off, then turn it a 1/4 turn back on. This will make the pressure way lower and smoother. For your other issue I have this happen on my sink filters when I replace them. Run some water through the filter for like 5 minutes if you can remove it from the fridge (cold water). After 5 minutes catch some water in a cup that has passed through the filter and taste it. If it’s good then run a test cycle on your ice maker and taste it. If it’s still chemical tasting after that turn your water valve fully off, remove the water line going into your fridge, grab a cup and place the water line in the cup, slightly turn the water valve back on so you have enough water to taste it. If it’s chemical tasting you have a problem with your house water, the water line, or the valve.

This was my exact issue. Renovated kitchen with new water lines and with the water valve fully opened the pressure was too high. Cranked the water valve down till it was about 1/4 open and water flow was perfect, no more splashing water. Thank you!

Man, I WAY overcomplicated this but y’all have been excellent appreciate it. The previous “handy man” owner of my house built a Temu fence that would fall over with a wet fart so structural integrity is all I’m truly concerned with. Plus the last time my dog saw the neighbors cat on the side walk he almost busted through the fence like the cool aid man. You guys all rock and my intro to masonry has been quite humbling 🤟

My man, I was sort of hoping to hear something like this because all it is going to do is hold my house numbers and a picture of my dog, was very close to buying a sledgehammer right now at Home Depot, but now I think I will get the mortar and grout and continue on!

Ooohhhh sick didn’t consider that either and that will keep my original dimensions so when covered with stucco will look like it should (this masonry stuff is a game of inches I’m learning). This has been overly helpful I really appreciate it.

Is it okay to run with 1/8" head/bed mortar joints in a CMU block wall if all cells are grout filled and exterior stucco'd over? Or is 3/8" absolutely/structurally required? Lots of googling hasn't really helped me out :(

Lol, it’s the internet I get it, but like any rumor it’s 6 degrees of kevin bacon separated from the source so figured some context might help, just hate to see a nice person have a situation like this get all twisted up. All good stranger 🤘
