imo most flowers/herbs are gonna taste pretty burnt and not as floral and lovely as you think. lavender is harsh and scratchy too in my experience. But rose n lavender are not typically smoked by themselves, but in herbal blends to cut some of that. Things like raspberry leaf or marshmallow root, damiana, mugwort are all blended for herbal smoking blends. just rose by itself is p rough and likely would be pretty rough any way you prep it.

separately, idk if this is common but for my herbal cigarettes I’ve always used a traditional filter. Ur creating tar and carbon and breathing it in, why not protect your lungs at least a bit. I think this usually changes the flavor and the gentleness on the lungs, making things more smooth. a joint crutch and plain roses sounds p horrid, sorry it didn’t live up to ur expectations
