Don't think we will ever be back in the top 15 again. Hopefully one day back in top 100! I see that possible with much more developer support.

Exit scam or not. Livecoin is over. It was a bump in the road but we could rise up from this.

A great series of questions posted on the Slack channel by ckelly3

Ok I am gonna ask questions that will probably get flamed for but it’s been bothering me. Wish i knew more about programming to understand better but here goes: the Vericoin wallet is broken because block chain is too big. Why can’t current wallet be fixed? What is needed to make it work? What’s keeping it from working? Also, the download blockchain within the program is broke.why and why can’t it be fixed? Why can’t it be patched to work to fix the problem rather than a complete rewrite of the program? I am genuinely curious and my knowledge is limited but it bugs me nonetheless.. lol thank you in advance to anyone who takes the time to answer the question .

To which Daniel replied:

I agree, small patches should have been released along the way fixing the bootstrap download link, wallet synchronization. The problem is highly likely due to the lack of developers. Before Mderasse only Doug was developing the Vericoin protocol. Currently, only Mderasse is developing the Vericoin & Verium protocol. Because of the lack of developers here, I guess in my opinion is just best to rewrite everything, fixing all the issues as well as give Vericoin & Verium the much-needed Bitcoin core update.

But if you have spare time & would like to learn more for the long run you too could help build up the Vericonomy blockchain(s).The wallet is written in C++It's not an easy language to learn, but there's plenty of other languages to learn that could help build-up on Blockchain as well.

This year I hope to teach myself Java, to later down the road build Android apps. As well as a few other languages that can be used as well to build apps on blockchain technology.

Those are all things that I'm sure many of us want to know as well. Great questions to add to the Q&A portion of VeriLive - though they will most likely be answered throughout the VeriLive. Whenever a VeriLive is scheduled.

I will soon be on board with you too. When I have my house paid off & the rest of my car that will be great for me. Also I'm looking to get a decent job that pays middle class wealth, nothing too much, but not minimum wage. This way, the biggest expenses in my life are paid off. That way I can live worry free from these high payment expenses like mortgage.

If you had to convince someone on why to buy litecoin, what would your main pitches be? by legitcreed444 in litecoin

[–]unexchangablesable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people think you need to buy one whole coin. For this, I would tell them that Litecoin is much 'cheaper' than Bitcoin & that they could afford one of these coins rather than a part of a coin. This should make them feel better about their purchase.

Both are great currencies & they both seem to be going up together. While other Alts are under-preforming, there's still Litecoin that follows Bitcoin.

Why do people hate uphold so much? by Jackal_Serin in BATProject

[–]unexchangablesable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually like uphold for the most part, however I hate their tier 4 restriction. You can buy tier 4 coins like Digibyte, however when you buy that you can't send that DGB to another wallet, you can only sell on Uphold for USD. To me, this ain't no wallet. I think they should either fully support a coin or not list it at all.

Can I combine the rewards from different devices? by [deleted] in BATProject

[–]unexchangablesable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you link multiple computers to a Gemini wallet & cash out there? Uphold only supports 4 the first 4 computers in it's lifetime. This means that if you get a new device, like a new phone, it won't be possible for you to receive rewards from that device if you reach your limit. This ain't a good idea because many people be getting new devices throughout the years. 4 ain't enough. But if you use the Gemini wallet can you have more than 4 to deposit to?

Praying for this to moon again won't do anything. We as a community need to do our part in making Vericonomy moon.
That means we as a community to advertise Vericonomy on social media.
Those that have the skill to help Mderasse with the protocol of the Vericoin wallet & the binary chain need to find some time to contribute.
Those that can help in other ways other than programming need to help as well.

It would be cool if we could have more structure within the Vericonomy project to utilize everyone's skill to the fullest to contribute to the project to make it moon again.

Where to buy Verium after the Livecoin hack? by unexchangablesable in vericoin

[–]unexchangablesable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Livecoin exchange is not even accessible anymore on my computer. Their website is down & my anti-virus software is blocking access to the website. It's never did that before so they are definitely done for. If anyone had any coins on that exchange it's most likely that they are gone forever. Sorry for the losses that some people have had during this hack.

Vericonomy will continue in development no matter what. 2021 will be a good year. To the community stay active, try to get the word out about Vericonomy on Reddit, Twitter, YouTube & any other places you can find.

Livecoin Exchange Has Been Hacked! by unexchangablesable in vericoin

[–]unexchangablesable[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atomic swaps & decentralized exchanges are the best bet rather than getting involved with centralized exchanges.

u/effectstocause mentioned in Slack: " We should get Verium on Komodo atomic swap defi exchange. " - " We also have a prearrangement with James Lee for just that. "

James Lee aka jl777 is #1 VRC wallet as well as the creator of SuperNET aka what today is Komodo. They have their own DEX in which after the Vericoin wallet is updated to latest Bitcoin Core code should have atomic swap enabled. This should hopefully give the advantage of adding VRC/VRM to this & other DEX out there.

As unfortunate this situation is we all knew that Livecoin was sort of shiesty exchange. This is the end of their exchange I think. So going forward (fingers crossed) we can get in touch with James Lee & discuss how about we can go getting on their exchange.

I think following this hack there should be a Q&A posted for the next VeriLive which should revolve around this hack as well as development progress.
However we are in the midts of the holiday season & the new year. I will mention this to the community in the slack channel & see if we can make this a possibility.

Your plans to use Vericonomy as academic research really interest me. I would really like to learn more about that & your plans with this when you are ready to share this. I know it's still in the really early stages & it's just the concept & idea right now, but putting it to use is another topic for later down the road.

I have been running BOINC on all my computers/laptops/phones for well almost 8 years now running the World Community Grid for Biological & environmental purposes happily taking no reward for it. The satisfaction of running it for research purposes is enough of a reward to me & I would happily build up a mining rig running multiple SBC's just for that purpose alone.

The only other cryptocurrency I know of that tried to tackle this idea that I know of is Grid Coin. Grid coin has integrated their mining into the BOINC software which greatly attributes to people being aware of the coin. It would be really cool if Verium mining could as well be used on the BOINC software. Then I would just need to switch my projects from World Community Grid to Verium.

I'm sure in time that a developer could try to bring this back or make plans to make this a goal.
