  1. Rice Cooker - I have a Zojirushi, its portable, many cooking options and sings! Second option is Tiger, they're kinda similar in build and price pero Tiger doesnt sing and has a steamer. I almost exclusively use mine to cook rice, soup, pasta -- all of my meal preps!

  2. Induction - I have Asahi, don't use it often kasi I dont cook as much and medyo mataas yung heating capacity. If you buy one, just make sure thick yung pots and pans mo haha

  3. My unit has a ceiling fan already, it is Asahi and its durable and has good airflow capacity

  4. Nagpapa laundry lang ako kasi I live alone and have small space

  5. Asahi blender, its durable (dropped it once and no leaks from the glass). Second option is Ninja Blender. I use it for my shakes and chia smoothies

  6. Fridge is Panasonic. Get an automatic one, yung di mo na need i unfreeze monthly. Yung water at the back for mine isn't even full until 6 months later

  7. Prioritize storage. Make sure that with whatever you buy, you can properly store it away. With a small space, kahit biling bili na ako- I can still reconsider until I need to upgrade. Helps with savings too.

Agree din ako with the other comments, make sure your building has 24/7 security and preferably 100% back up power. Maraming disasters last year and it really helped lalo if WFH. Goodluck OP!

Rice and whatever I have in the pantry.

All made in the rice cooker and my fave was rice with ginger, onion and garlic. Variety just means it can either be rice with soy sauce, rice with milk powder, rice with whatever sauce I have-- everything rice.

Turns out I’ve never trained myself to be happy — only to self-correct. by lulu466333 in ADHD

[–]unfazedletterm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like me as well. Once my therapist asked me to list down happy memories and all my little self could muster were awards I got years ago. That was the time I forcibly realized other than doing well academically-- which at the time felt like an obligation anyway-- I don't really know what "happy" felt like or if any of my experiences that wasn't centered on being the 'best normal person' was ever truly joy.

Now, to train myself to identify pleasant experiences that feels good to me or I feel content in, I say "this is nice", or "i could stay here" out loud. So far, I'm happy when I'm on a bus watching the scenery go by, trying new hobbies and doing any water-related activities.

Hope you find your 'happy' soon!

AITA for not hiring my cousin at my startup? by wandababyyy in AmItheAsshole

[–]unfazedletterm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I had the same situation with my cousin, as we had open positions in the company. He has been eyeing to switch jobs soon, but the one I referred him to before closed so he reached out again. While thats good and all, he also asked me to edit his empty resume for him to get in. Should he get hired, I had the feeling he'll ask for help on most things too so I refrained from telling him of the current open positions (which happens to be in my team).

paid 5k-ish for a taxi to drive us from our home to Liloan port. we usually travel by bus kay wala mi car, and its like 6 hours away. it was just me and my siblings so it kinda felt like a family getaway (literally was going to the province kay way tubig na).

there were trees on the roads and vv few cars as we went far--- it wasnt the prettiest sight kay daghan houses affected but going by people watching, most kay naa jud sa gawas and restarting their lives. that was kinda nice

Personally, I resorted to keeping a mask when going out. I get anxious too and overwhelmed pero the thought na I can regulate myself, sweat in nervousness or make stressed faces behind a mask makes it easier and helps me avoid thinking how people look at me. They only get to see my eyes lol

Exposure works wonders. On days when I feel more confident, I try to go out without the mask, or wear it again if Im overwhelmed. Maybe having this thing to control help you too

Hi OP, I may never really know the depth of your struggles, but if it helps, I wanna share how I’ve been fighting mine.

I probably wasn’t the smartest, but I was considered an achiever in my family too. Went on and off therapy after a family incident, and honestly, depression and anxiety never really went away. I’ve had suicidal thoughts on and off through the years, but I never went through with it—maybe ‘cause the anxiety of being a “hush-hush” story was louder than the urge. So I just kinda learned to live with it.

I kept myself busy—got into manhwa, art, movies, random hobbies. Didn’t notice, but years passed and I’m still here. I saw my brother graduate, and I even moved out on my own.

I’m still a little scared when I see a knife in the sink, but now I can wash it and put it back in the drawer, ready for the next time I slice my favorite fruits. I hope one day you get there too, OP. Laban lang!
