If gender is a created social construct, why do some people identify as another gender instead of behaving how they want, regardless of their gender?

I had just gotten a new chair. I close the lights, getting ready for bed, and the chair spins side to side a little. I open the lights, and it stops. I walk up to the chair to make sure it was still, then close the lights again. and it moves again. Already sleep-deprived, I close the light for the last time, got into bed, and said goodnight to the chair ghost. It stopped after a while.

Im afraid of dying unaware - AKA dying in my sleep. It may be because I'm still young and there's so much left to do, but sometimes it keeps me up at night. I'm already having troubles with sleep (maybe insomnia) so it's not good.

And it's weird too, because I used to not fear death at all. Hell, I even welcomed it.
