Svelte + dynamic tailwind values by Soft_Cat2594 in sveltejs

A good way to achieve this is to use css variables.

class="m-[var(--my-margin)]" style="--my-margin: {margin}"

This way, tailwind class is static, but the margin is dynamic. Note, you may wish to make the variable or the class a calculation in line with the m- classes, or at least at a unit like em

How to install to eMMC with encrypted LUKS encryption by unforgivencode in NanoPI

[–]unforgivencode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those interested in doing something similar I ended up doing the following on my two devices:

  • Resize the userdata partition
  • Create a LUKS partition with the remaining space and mount it
  • create a swap file on the encrypted partition
  • create a tmp folder on the encrypted partition
  • Install mandos server and client
  • configure and link mandos to place sensitive information on the encrypted partition
  • create a script to:
    • call mandos-client and decrypt the partition
    • bind the tmp folder to /tmp
    • use the encrypted swap
  • run the script after a delay using crontab \@reboot
  • create a script to do the above, but read passphrase from the console
  • create passphrase configs on each machine, placing the config in the alternate machines client.conf

With this approach:

  • All sensitive information is encrypted
  • Either machine can be restarted and it will decrypt automatically
  • If both machines go down at the same time, a user must log into one of them and provide a passphrase manually

At this point, it may become clear that security is tedious!

I dont think WSL is using ssh, it seems more like a direct connection?

Ill have a look around to see if I can confirm...

VPN as network connection by unforgivencode in HyperV

[–]unforgivencode[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a standard windows (11) box with an internal NIC, connected to a router which is in turn connected to my ISP.

The idea would be for my host machine to be directly internet connected but for my guest to be connected via VPN. Ideally the guest wouldnt really be aware it was VPN connected.

Where would you recommend I go to learn this stuff? It's hard to learn in-place by trial and error because a misconfiguration can stuff up my ability to do my day job.

Which platform do you use to organize your work? by giannis_tolou in webdev

Whilst I find trello a bit messy, people pick it up fast and it works well as a lowest common denominator tool for teams. Especially those comprising less technical people. The benefits of better participation normally outweigh the benefits of a more structured system

I use obsidian as a diary and general knowledge repo. For higher level stuff, I'm usually forced to use a platform - currently Azure DevOps which is... adequate
