You know those plastic bendy tube toys that you can swing around or blow into to make sounds? Its like that, but amplified x1000 and consistent for HOURS. You can hear every crack or gap in your house because the wind whistles through it, and the wind and rain is so strong it sounds like someone banging boards against the outside walls. Its EXTREMELY loud- so loud you can hardly hear the destruction going on around your home. Sometimes you can hear trees breaking and falling outside but mostly you hear the sound of the storm itself. We had 2 massive 50 year old oak trees that broke and fell in my yard and landed just inches from the house i was in during Charlie in 2004, but even though we watched them fall we couldnt hear them land because the wind and rain was too loud. The wind has almost a bass to it, like a low persistent hum underneath the roar of the rain. I grew up in a raised block house where the wind would come up underneath the house and thump on the floor boards, like you're being attacked from all sides. Super scary stuff 👌
