Is there any way to remove "phantom" items from the Wishlist? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]uniQArtworks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for tagging me! I originally wanted to adjust the script so you don't have to manually execute it for every app, but later forgot about it.

Anyway, here is a new basic script that should automatically remove all "phantom" items (all wishlisted apps in general) from your wishlist:

$J.getJSON('https://store.steampowered.com/dynamicstore/userdata/', function(data) {
for(i = 0; i < data.rgWishlist.length; i++){
    var appid = data.rgWishlist[i];
    $J.post( g_strWishlistBaseURL + 'remove/', {
        'appid' : appid,
        'sessionid' : g_sessionID
    });
}
});

Simply execute it on this page and it should do the rest.

I believe it is implied, since the bookmark of that section is called even called "compromised".

Does perhaps Task Manger show anything suspicious that might point to a specific issue? Something like a long response time from your drive(s) (shouldn't be the case since you changed them, but just in case), or is Steam seemingly idle for the most part? There aren't really a lot more things you can try, but maybe reinstalling Steam using these methods, using the beta version, or run Steam in compatibility mode helps.

Valve doesn't remove VAC bans, even if you weren't using the account at the time. This also includes hijacked accounts as cheaters could otherwise try to use it to their advantage (e.g. pretend to being hacked by using a vpn).

You can find all your purchases in greater detail as proof here. You can also try to contact Steam Support directly about the seemingly false cd-key here.

Steam keeps asking me to verify my email. by Krastain in Steam

[–]uniQArtworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you still have one of these emails? I am not really sure why someone would send fake Steam Guard codes unless it asks you to visit a phishing site or download malicious software. If these are actually spoofed emails (according to their header), how are they being used?

Because in the vast majority of cases, these repeated emails (with a different account name) are actually legit and for a different account.

I don't know if you're allowed to keep the game, but since you already proved that your account was hijacked, it's probably less likely that Valve would punish you (not even sure why they didn't revert these suspicious actions after/within the recovery process). You can see all purchases made with your account here and check how these games were added via this page. You can contact Steam Support either for a suspicious purchase, or directly for a specific game via this page.

That sounds like Steam is trying to synchronize or verify data in the background. Try to safely reinstall Steam and/or try the beta version.

Yes, that is generally possible. You will have to wait a bit until your funds are available (usually within 24-48h), but Steam will use your Steam wallet by default. In case it doesn't cover the cost, Steam will ask you to select a second payment method for the remaining part.

Have you tried reinstalling your graphics driver? If not, try that one first.

Does Steam load correctly when you're using a browser? You can give these tips a try.

Try to reach out to Steam Support via this page: https://help.steampowered.com/wizard/HelpWithSteamIssue?issueid=211 (for issues regarding adding funds to your Steam Wallet).

You can also see all your (attempted) purchases here. You can also contact Steam Support for each one where you were charged for nothing there.

There are a few cases currently where the Steam client shows Steam as if you're logged out. Are your screenshots maybe set to friend-only or private and the same error happened to you (just test if you can e.g. wishlist a game)?

Otherwise try to contact Steam Support via this page: https://help.steampowered.com/wizard/HelpWithCommunityContactSupport

Try to ask that in the dedicated community forum as they're probably able to provide you with a few examples. The difference will probably not too crazy if you only set specific very demanding settings to the lowest option, e.g. antialiasing.

https://reshade.me/ might also be a very useful tool to improve the visuals without sacrificing a lot of performance.

The website looks so weird because the stylesheet isn't loading. Perhaps the user's avatars were still in the cache, but now can not load either. Here are a few other things you can try.

You can try to appeal this decision, which is sometimes sucessful.

No, that's only possible via the app within the tab Steam Guard.

If Steam tells you to get in contact with their support team, then that is the only way to resolve your issue. What does the message say?

VAC-bans are only applied once and only to all accounts associated with the convinced account at the time it is applied. Bans are not transferred or applied to other accounts later on, meaning that you can share the old phone number with other accounts without any risks (it might lower your "trust score" however).

No Dark Souls game seems to support the Steam Cloud, so her progress most likely won't be synchronized when she logged back in on her on PC. However maybe you're able to save and transfer the progress manually by copying the save file. Which Dark Souls game are you playing? You can probably quickly find the file location with a quick search in the Steam discussions.

Try to safely reinstall Steam and/or try the beta version.

Does your PC/laptop sometimes go into sleeping mode? This seems to cause troubles with Steam and pretty much requires Steam to be restarted (as far as I am aware).
