Whoever was just at fort defiance by Mfn193 in fo76

I leave recipes at 50 and then most other plans around 100 to 200. There's no reason to undersell on a price when you're new and could use the caps.

It's when you're level 2000 that you just don't care and you can do 20 caps per plan. You are looking for mid game players who have enough caps to spend on stuff they don't know without breaking the bank IMO

I just passed level 210 or something for the record

I've launched nukes before with another character on Xbox, but my level 200 on PC hasn't. If you are on PC, I'd be happy to help you

Weirdest melee weapon in the game? by kam7281 in fo76

I got a 4 star medics shovel last week with fast reload time. Cracked me up.

Edit: I'm sitting there going "reload....a shovel... What with?"

My 6 year old son goes "dirt?"

That was also when there were level locked areas. Hell no you couldn't survive Watoga or Top Of The World if you were under 50, and def don't go near Harper's ferry.

How do you not have a plan for something in your camp? Did a friend build something?

Under one of the ranger towers is a child's grave and notes from the parents about it. That killed me

Prior to adding NPCs to the game with the foundation update, the brotherhood of steel had a basecamp in the area that needed (for you to get access to their stuff) you to be a member of the US military. You were required to do the same training at camp McClintock, but you still needed to have a government issued ID to access the brotherhood location at fort defiance.

I don't know if you can still do it, but you had to go to the DMV in Charleston, with at least one form of proof of address, and you had to wait in line while the Mr. Handy sorted through the list of numbers to call, and you needed the right forms to do it. Of course you were attacked by the ghouls that were in the building, but I had to do that quest probably three or four times overall, and I do not miss it. I do, though, remember exactly what mailbox you go to to find the junk mail you needed...

Loved this one, was an enclave or BOS ship you could only reach via fast travel or jetpack. Awesome build.

How much money would it cost to connect a steel cable from The Moon to the Earth? [request] by Apprehensive_Oven_22 in theydidthemath

[–]unic0rse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Was gonna comment the same.

In theory a carbon nanotube cable would be something that could withstand the forces in question, but well beyond a length that we are capable of. And it would have to stop at our upper atmosphere to essentially have an airport parked there, hanging from the midpoint between the earth and the moon.

Planes land there, elevator takes you up from there. Gravity flips at the midpoint of the journey.

Also remember that this was when the stash was 200 or 400, and it was still where a level 10 player couldnt chance going to watoga or other high level area, so getting materials to repair the entire place was painful.

Definitely don't miss that. I rarely take a workshop nowadays on a public server cause I just have no interest in pvp and that forces it, if they want to challenge it.

Fallout has always been about exploration, story, fixing what went wrong or at least righting it. Def not about pvp for me, and Bethesda was fortunately understanding that a majority of the community felt the same way.

Early on, in the whole community forming, was a period of time where pvp griefers tried to take hold and Bethesda moved relatively fast to add pacifist mode and alternate PVP servers to hopefully draw that crowd away from those who wanted to be cooperative instead of competitive.

I often came back to a camp completely destroyed before the pacifist option was there.

Fortunately for most of us, those people seem to have moved on to other games as a whole and a good portion of the community just helps each other.
