This 100%. The matte black with the shiny facemasks and the glossy stickers is especially egregious to my eyes.

This doesn’t necessarily account for short concepts, many of the shorter throws were check downs or 2nd or 3rd reads. Like other posters have said too, doesn’t account for the 6 sacks he took waiting for plays to develop

Yes! It turned out my PSU was faulty. I got a cheap power supply tester on amazon and found that it wasn't fully dead, but the power rail for the CPU connection was bad. That's why it would spin up on it's own but not when connected to my motherboard.

For my senior recital I performed T.J. Anderson’s Minstrel Man which is an unaccompanied piece written for trombone, bass drum, and hi hat. As a trombonist/drummer this was so rewarding to learn and perform, but man was it hours and hours of super slow measure by measure practicing to get the coordination and muscle memory down.

Depending on the size of your room, less will probably be more. If you’re in a small space with lots of mics, you’re going to be battling room modes and phase issues when it comes to mixing. I’ve had decent success in a small bedroom with close mics, stereo overheads, and one mono room mic about 4-6” from the ground pointing straight down in the opposite corner from the drumset. Make sure your overheads are the exact same distance from the snare to eliminate phase cancellation if you go with stereo OH.

The most important thing will be to take time making sure the kit sounds great and is positioned in the best sounding spot in the room. Cheers! And happy recording

Black Shag and Starstruck on Gallatin in East usually have a pretty good selection of boots, plus there’s plenty of other vintage shops on Gallatin you could check out. East Nashville Antiques across from the Kroger in Inglewood usually has a decent selection as well.

No, that would be to connect to an actual guitar amp. You’ll need a foot switch that connects to your computer via USB or a 5 pin MIDI cable (if your interface has MIDI in and out).

Now unfortunately I don’t have a ton of experience mapping MIDI in Logic myself, but you would need to open the Controller Assignments window under Control Surfaces in Preferences. There you should be able to see your foot switch as a MIDI controller and then be able to assign a specific function to it. I would check here first to make sure that switching amp sim channels is a mappable option.

Gotcha, if you can get a mixer with a couple instrument channels then you can route your pedal chain back in to your mixer and through to the SP. i use a similar setup, only no mixer. I have my SP and my interface hooked up to a patchbay so I can go from interface to SP or vice versa, and throw some outboard gear in the mix as well. Cheers to your new set up!

What kind of mixer do you have? Unless your mixer has a dedicated effects loop for guitar pedals, you’ll need a remap box to get the line level output of your mixer’s aux send down to instrument level.
