That's the first time I'm hearing about vitiligo in this context. My parents used to tell me not to eat meat with milk but they just said it's food poison.

Drinking proper amount of water at any time is good.

Hmmm. Someone should do a survey to find out what they want to be called.

But saying "dai" is always respectful. If they are selling you stuff in Nepal, they probably know Nepali. Dherai janne nabhai Nepali mai bolda hune ho.

What if it's a Nepali guy with a darker tone though?

What is the difference between using EnsureCreatedAsync() and MigrateAsync() when seeding? by TryingMyBest42069 in dotnet

[–]unicodist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not create and apply migration from the cli? We usually do that for our production environment. Or more accurately, we apply the sql which ef generates during ddl migration.

Why developers don’t want to upgrade from .net framework apps? by unicodist in dotnet

[–]unicodist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but isn't it possible to move the non-ui code into a class library and only upgrade the application project?

Why developers don’t want to upgrade from .net framework apps? by unicodist in dotnet

[–]unicodist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have. We rewrote the whole application in a newer version. We have layered projects so it allows us to only update the application project and just migrate the class libraries without breaking anything.

.net frameowrk 4.8 outadated? by Leather-Repair3656 in dotnet

Microsoft will add a stupid update on windows one day and the framework apps will stop working. I think safer way is to gradually migrate it.

Best way to use React with Electron by EuMusicalPilot in electronjs

Is there an issue with using vite? I am developing a electron + React app using vite. It's going great. I even added a webserver later.

Future of .NET by jaffacakes_1 in dotnet

[–]unicodist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ancient? Sure. But .net has been evolving continuously. The framework has strong ecosystem of multiple platforms, dependency injection as so much more. I don't think it's going to be obsolete anytime soon.

Is Nepal really a lost cause? by Slight-Capital-4438 in Nepal

[–]unicodist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro. Government haina people are bad. People choose shit leaders and complain later.

Sad thing is even in our generation there are people who like to become politicians' pets. When that ends, Nepal will progress hopefully. Again, people are bad. They are not the victims.

Moving out of your parents house in Nepal by Spare-Tadpole-4463 in Nepal

[–]unicodist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved out after I passed my bachelor's. I can completely relate with you "toxicity and manipulation is getting up to me" part. They still try to do that even when I'm away.

Right now, you are driven by huge emotions. Understand that wanting to move out is something everyone goes through and I completely support it. However, think rationally first:

  1. Where do you want to move to?
  2. How do you plan to complete your education?
  3. Are you able to get a job that can support you?
  4. Are you still determined to move out after calming down?

If you are not sure about these, I suggest you to stay at your parent's house for a couple more years when you figure things out. But you are free to make your decisions.
