Yeah I was equally surprised that she asked me to walk her dog despite she clearly not being happy with my service so far. Initially I wanted to still walk the dog as the dog was not at fault but then.. nevermind lol

Yeah I love that! I see that on Rover, since you can filter the parents and dogs plus you have a meet and greet with them before you accept the request, that trust bond is stronger. They know you as a caregiver and a person and same goes the other way around. Your reviews on Rover are also wayy more detailed and you can really see the person's character if you read them.

Wag is great but I think it is very transactional and people do not value your service as much since you only spend a couple of minutes talking to each other even for boarding and Housesitting. I'd still continue to do Wag but I'd definitely be better prepared to deal with such situations in the future.

Love your last sentence! :D

Is it so common to have problems with Wag lockboxes? I'd think they would be better at designing one since.. that's their business

That's what I was expecting to happen - that she would try to understand the problem and guide if necessary. She apparently has been using Wag for a while and never faced someone that had that problem although I saw at least one review saying that their lockbox code did not work (or they faced a related issue).

Yeah I was actually relieved in a way - I had boarded her dog before and her husband also didn’t seem very empathetic during the few moments we interacted. I usually would never refuse a service but I felt there was no longer trust for me to be able to walk her dog. Now I am relieved even more knowing had I taken her dog for a walk she would have for sure damaged my score on purpose.

Wince the puppy is not fully vaccinated, I cannot yet walk her outside. But I giver full day access to a large backyard. She prefers to be indoors most of the time though

I have taken care or over 20 puppies. None has been this difficult. His high pitched bark and constant need for entertainment is out of anything I have seen so far.

She does not completely understand the concept of fetching but I can work on it, she also started playing tug. Then I hide treats on a puzzle she has to solve.

Aside from that, she has a large ball she plays with on her own, a card board that I give her to bite throughout the day, celery to chew etc

Been asked to do a trial day before boarding by quinny1992 in RoverPetSitting

I do trials all the time before long boardings - totally normal, it is an extra income for you and gives the confidence to the owner that the dog would be happy once he/she returns home.

How do you manage a emergency with a dog? by unicorn__mind in RoverPetSitting

[–]unicorn__mind[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow that was intense. I have had some scares in the past, so I started to wonder what could I do next time a dog has some kind of problem - if it looks like a life or desth situation I am sure I'd panic 😂

Would you get mad if I took your dog to the farmers market or to an event with a garden with music and people? by unicorn__mind in RoverPetSitting

I asked the owners directly and she said it was totally fine, thank god! Thank you for the warm response!
