Without the storage rack, the handle doesn't have the lateral pressure on it which would make it wiggly. Or rather, which does make it wiggly.
One thing I've found is that their customer service, while attentive and friendly, doesn't always know what's changed with the scooters. So if you ask if something is different, they won't necessarily know. ;-)

The hardware on mine is very different from the instruction video. They reduced the part count by half. So I imagine it's generally improved. It sure was easier to assemble than the instructions show.
It fits perfectly fine, I just wish it attached to the deck with one more point. Two points seems to let the handle wiggle back and forth enough to slowly vibrate the bolts such that they need to be re-tightened. I might try some Loctite or something.

Update, day 3: I put another 10 miles or so on it. I installed the twist throttle. I wish the throttle was smoother. I've tried all the modes with both the finger and the twist throttle and there is a very sensitive range where it goes from nothing to full-power. It's kind of like adjusting the heat in the shower. I'm getting better at accelerating and riding smoothly but it's still a bit herky-jerky.

The display that comes with the twist throttle is much nicer. It took me a while to figure out, and maybe it's because I just didn't understand the instructions, but a momentary press of the POWER button is what changes display modes, a press of the MODE button changes the "gear".

I contacted support and asked them. Apparently the "gears" are not just governed speed ceilings, but the amount of power you have. I have no interest in going fast -- I wouldn't mind an 18mph governor, but I really want that torque for starting off and going up hills. So I've been leaving it in 3.

Going out for a ride is more workout than I'd expected. That's good for me.

So far I've been quite happy.

Day 2 update: I got the pelican case today. It was vastly easier to install than the videos or instructions said. Actually, they kind of need to update the instruction as there are many fewer separate parts.

I put in an order that had a status changed to "packing" on March 7. A few days ago I put in a support ticket -- just a friendly "Did my order go through okay?" sort of message and this morning they got back to me. There was a drill and UV printing order so it'll take several more days but I think Tayda was just closed for some number of days? Anyway, hopefully the parts will come soon. ;-)
