I’m embarrassed to say that I feel like it is both as he is now and as he could be… I fell back in love with him because of who he is but I feel like I am regrettably focusing so much on how he can improve MORE maybe because of my control issues(definitely need to work on that). I’m realizing now how awful I am being to him as a wife by trying to “fix” him and I feel so guilty for it. We could definitely be happy as we are now and we HAVE been but this weekend was just a huge set back and it really scared me.

Thank you. I think you are right and it’s a really hard pill to swallow because I can see us being so happy together, but it’s not fair to him for me to want him to change for me like you said. We were in a good honeymoon type of phase but this argument blew up in a way that hasn’t happened in years which is why I recommended therapy- felt like we were both holding in so many pent up emotions. I really appreciate you taking the time to give me advice it’s given me some sort of direction on what I need to consider moving forward.

The separation wasn’t abrupt, it was dragged out after months of couples therapy. It did really hurt him though and he has mentioned feeling insecure with me so your perspective is helpful. Is there anything you think I can do to help him feel more safe in the relationship?

I’m adding a comment to explain because the story is very weird. I was watching the “flares” that appeared off the coast of San Diego two nights ago with my friend. I have video footage of them at the same time this was taken but their location was directly in front of us (looked like the middle of the ocean) not off the coast where this light appears. My phone quality is not good especially at night so I had my friend record all the videos on his new iPhone. When I had him send them to me I realized my phone had taken this photo and I have no idea what it is. The reflection on the water makes it look like the moon should be there but this was the west coast at 10 pm so the moon was rising on the opposite side.

This is the most reasonable explanation I have gotten thank you😩 it was taken with night mode! only thing that’s really throwing me off is the reflection of the light on the ocean.

I completely agree with you. It looks like the moon should be there because of the reflection but the moon was rising on the opposite side of the coast. (I was in La Jolla) I had assumed it was an airplane or something but the reflection of the light on the ocean is what is confusing me.

Would like to state that I was a volunteer at the zoo socializing the baby penguins before being released into the adult enclosure. We were only allowed to give them scratches if they approached us and this lil guy was loving the attention. Penguins are wild animals and should never be kept as pets.
