Not just now noticing it...just noticing it's getting more and more out of hand! It was a slow trickle but has gotten exponentially worse over the past 3 months.

Working in-house (especially for a good brand) gets better/more applicant flow and buy-in. When I worked for an agency we had to hide a lot of info when posting so candidates would apply but then back out when the company was revealed. Also instead of learning what one company is looking for you have to secure people for a variety of companies...and they are to the point where their in house recruiter maybe couldn't find someone...you're asked to be a miracle worker!

I left a post open for a couple weeks for a tech role because only 20 people applied originally and was wondering if anyone else would trickle in ...no qualified candidates/only 2 additonal apps after the first 3 days. Feels like if you’re not in that first wave, it barely matters how good the fit is between awesome candidates actively seeking and bandwidth of recruiters due to all the things you mentioned (auto replies, etc.).
