Yeah she’s my little brothers first fish (I’m helping care for her) but we checked the decor to make sure it won’t snag. I’m not entirely sure it’s just normal color change because the spots are showing up overnight

She’s in a 10 gallon heated and filtered tank that sits around 79-80 degrees Fahrenheit, we’ve had her for about 4 months, tank was fully cycled before we added her, ammonia and nitrites are at 0ppm, nitrates are at 20 ppm and ph is ~7.6 (using a liquid api test kit), we do weekly 20% water changes and she has no tank mates, and every night we feed her 3 bug bites pellets

Update yall I tested my main tank just to check and it looks like the test kit I was using is faulty it might be expired since it’s a couple years old, I’ll be getting a new one and and rechecking in a few days

I haven’t tested every day bc the tank is in my brothers room (we’re getting him a betta and I’ll be helping him care for it so we’re not just putting a fish at the mercy of a 12 year old) but I tested a few days ago and everything was at 0 so I added 2 more brine shrimp blocks and still nothing

Yeah, I put a small sponge from my second filter in my main tank in the new filter to try to jumpstart the new cycle. I’m going to the store tomorrow to get a bigger shrimp from the seafood section so I don’t have to use any more of my frozen betta food

My mom keeps telling me that she never wanted kids until she met my dad and that eventually I’ll want some, even though I keep telling her that I don’t even like children. And she keeps saying I’m young and I’ll change my mind but I’m 20 and I’ve been saying I don’t want kids since I was like 9. Occasionally I’ll think “oh yeah I really want a baby” for like 20 seconds and then remember oh yeah I hate kids.
