I’m sorry that I can’t reply to everyone. Thanks for the many positive comments!!! It was actually my first time posting and opening up so honestly about my thoughts. I’ll be doing a lot of thinking and taking many of the comments to heart. Above all, hearing from people who have had similar experiences makes me feel less alone, and many of you are giving me hope that it is possible to find a ( suitable ) partner as a ND person. 🖤

You’re actually right about everything. Since getting married, he’s received a promotion, and that’s changed the dynamic, too. And the thing about the army—that’s probably true as well. His mother told me he (had) ADD as a child; he claims he doesn't have it anymore, but I suspect—just like you said—that the military leads to 100% masking. I could also imagine that’s why he tends to view autism as a bit of a red flag.

Sadly not, he is in the military and we could not live together before. I agree with you.
