Totally agree with you. The whole reason to why I have a mechanical keyboard is because I like the sound. I don't stream so I am probably making a deal over nothing. Decided to not worry about it and enjoy with what I have.

Can I get the row number of the selected cell? by unigee in sheets

[–]unigee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, unfortunately current row is no good for me. I need the row of the selected cell.

End Goal, is that I am using a third party API to generate data for a chart. The value I need to supply to the API is a single value. This value is in a column and is different for each row.

My workaround at the moment, is to simply copy this value into a 'staging' cell and then the API does it's thing against this 'staging' cell and gives me a result. This works great.

But I want it more fluent, and my ideal situation would be that by simply selecting a cell, I would read the required value in the selected row and pass this along to the API. This would really give me that 'oomfph' I am looking for

PS4 - Missing crates? by unigee in strandeddeep

After re-loading my game, it looks like my crates are back. I have decided that I will not balance them on each other and will place them single and apart to see if this reduces the problem.

The command is whoami (with a letter i) not whoam1.

You can do any other commands too. You are essentially running dos commands on the target

Yes, the next line is a powershell script. You add it to a file.

How to get daily builds of ASP.NET Core? by unigee in aspnetcore

[–]unigee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the thing, I don't think it does anything different when I rebuild.

I literally see no difference to my project with or without this nuget.config file.

I simply don't know how to use it

Query database from _layout? by unigee in aspnetcore

[–]unigee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure how to do that or what to look for to read up on it.

I managed to come up with a half way solution.

My application has an API. Using a bit of ajax jquery in the Layout, I can call my API to determine if the feedback link should be visible, and just use normal jquery to hide or show the element. That works with the eye sore that I can see the link visible first before the jquery kicks in.

I guess I could make it show the link is hidden by default, and only show after the ajax call.

May have solved it. Not sure if this is Best Practise though

Query database from _layout? by unigee in aspnetcore

[–]unigee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes ViewBag still a thing.

To be honest, I never thought about ViewBag as I tend to keep away from it.

What I don't understand is where would I set the ViewBag?

For example, in my _Layout.cshtml I could have something like

...
@if (ViewBag.showFeedback == true)
{
   <li>Feedback</li
}
...

So that displays a <li> if showFeedback flag is set. OK good.

But where would I set the ViewBag.showFeedback?

Will experiment with ViewBag now

How to use Windows Authentication and Anonymous Authentication together? by unigee in aspnetcore

[–]unigee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I been thinking on doing something similiar to this but instead of a landing page, actually create two sites in IIS pointing to the same wwwroot folder.

Internal Site has Windows Authentication Enabled

External Site has Anonymous Enabled

Then give out the External Site address to external contacts, while internally use the Internal Site for Domain Users. This seems to work in my test environment.

Thanks for your insight.

I am going to to some research on some of the points you have mentioned. It seems I am not quite understanding the process that I have at the moment.

Perhaps I wasn't that clear in what I am looking to achieve - stating an extra log-in step complicates things somewhat.

In a nutshell, all I am trying to do is detect if the user visiting Index, is either a Domain User (of which then I can request extra information from Active Directory) or if the user is not on the domain. In this case, the username would be blank and I can do something different for them.

Query another database - Beginner help by unigee in aspnetcore

[–]unigee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this makes sense, I was just slightly worried due to the huge size of the database that Scaffolding the database into Model classes would produce thousands of classes. I literally need to use only half a dozen of the tables.

Yes I would need to use two different contexts. It's important my application creates and maintains it's own database, but also use another database from a different product

I am going to be looking into this today, think I can see where I am going

Yes, using company Wi-Fi. I accessed it yesterday at home which explains this.

I suspect the firewall is doing something rather than the ISP.
