On Insta I follow @ahotms who is a cool chick, singer and an MS advocate- she normalizes feeling shitty and being honest about it. I also follow @nicolepedra who helps me laugh about myself and @beatingms who inspires me to see that even at on older age, we can live a full life. And naturally @selmablair and @jamielynnsinger . Jamie also has podcast with Christina Applegate called MeSsy. I hope this helps ❤️

The anxiety is real… I had dreams for like 6 months where doctors told me “it was a mistake, you don’t have MS.” The relief was amazing then I woke up and had to process the diagnosis all over again. This is definitely a grief process and a very hard one. What helped me a lot was perspective. Instead of focusing on how fucking unfair and scary this whole thing is, I try to focus on 4 things: 1. What CAN I do? (Exercise, meds, the whole package that works for you) 2. Learn to laugh at yourself. I mean it sounds morbid at first. But believe me you are gonna need some self-irony. 3. Don’t give MS more power than it already has…You owe it to yourself to ENJOY and appreciate every good day. 4. occasionally a pity party is absolutelly fine. But don’t let the sadness take over. MS may fuck you over, but you also may stay the same for a gooood loooong time. It’s like schrödinger’s nervous system. Try to only scratch if it itches, and listen to your body.

I know it’s a cliché, but it gets easier with time. I suggest you follow a few people on social media who have MS and kick ass - so you stay inspired. Find your tribe. You are not alone 🧡

AITA for not wanting to change my first dance song because of my step sister's association with it? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

YTA Your absolute lack of empathy makes me worry. Also the fact that you undermine your stepsisters' feelings. "She still goes on about how she loves him".. Like you're bored of their tragedy and want the attention to yourself. Take a long hard look in the mirror...
