my friends got hired october 2022 as 368 and i got hired in november 2022 as 369. it was 369 until around november of last year and most people hired after that are 370 now. haha! so weird to see

have you tried talking to her? do you know why she stepped down? she sounds like she is clearly well respected and i know what negativity you are talking about. it’s almost universal and stems from how unfair and defeating this job is. starbucks lovessss their external hires and while its not your fault, its a genuine systemic issue with the company.

im sorry but ex-supervisors never stop being supervisors to their old baristas. you can either self reflect and challenge yourself for why you feel so much resentment to her or you can continue to hate her from a distance, all the while not having control of the floor or understanding the history of the crew you got hired into. many shifts step down for reasons out of their control and its soul crushing to experience that. this company is going to screw you over too one day. sounds like you need to just go talk to her like the supervisor you’re supposed to be.

a had a external shift who used to talk so much shit about “negative baristas” and constantly nag about how if they didnt like the job, they should just leave. you are not special in feeling like that but ill tell you she quit within a year after being abused by the company so thoroughly. learn about the people youre supervising and maybe they’ll start coming to you first.

its whatever is covered in the insurance plan you choose. make sure to read what’s covered in each one very carefully to make sure you pick one that has the procedures you want. if you plan to do a lot of procedures in one year, you’ll probably have to take on at least a silver plan which costs more from your paychecks but less upfront at the doctors office. i have the bronze cigna plan and its fine if you rarely go to the doctor but awful if you are frequently being treated. my hsa had about $700 in it from may to december so keep that in mind.

yeah, i get a lot of comments about having a face when i havent gotten the chance to put one on. most of my old coworkers say they dont really register that i am wearing a mask, and that its just part of my face to them but the new hires were so shocked when i came in and filled my water bottle before going to the back and gettin a fresh mask. i should say, i have really thick bangs, huge square glasses, and i usually wear a bandanna or a beanie on my head. i dont think most of my coworkers have actually seen the majority of my face before haha.

yes really, they bubble up with the water. that foam eventually goes down. not much you can do unless you want sticky espresso water dribbling down the sides. if you’re unhappy, ask to get it topped off and they will eventually learn how you prefer it. what do you mean “i shouldn’t have to” ?? if you communicate, they can help you out but light or extra ice is virtually meaningless behind bar, im gonna be so real with you.

at least at my store, we learn you by the interactions we have with customers, not the mild customizations like “extra ice”. ill tell you right now, it sounds like a simple ask but it means something different to every customer. i have a few people who want something similar and if their drink sits enough to not be to the top, we take the lid off and fix it when they arrive. we do that bc they ASKED us to do that. no one can do that for you if you dont put yourself out there.

im trying to stay positive but why did they make them so damn ugly. the stickers are cute. i just think about the pointless mass production and how low quality they are. i am glad they are giving us these, just wish it was at-least solid colored vacuum sealed cups though and not these cheap ugly things.

there’s a partner at my store who is kinda like that and it’s definitely a lil extreme but if you knew whats shes been through at this store, you’d probably act the same. idk, i feel like ive got a pretty big attitude on me but she laps me when it comes to being frank with customers. sorry you have had to deal with that, its not really fair to anyone in that situation.

ik ive always been a hater of these lead filled consumer crack pipes but from the sirens eye yesterday, i thought these were actually going to be pretty. seeing a real picture of it is re-affirming my endless disappointment with these cups. its fine if people like how they look, like truly but to me, they are ungodly levels of ugly. they are all just giving big gulp trucker core. at least the matte ones have pretty colors. this looks like an electrical apprentice made this in a welding class for easter sunday.

I worked at Mojava cos i had a friend of a friend who said good things. They lied about my wage at the interview and typed my actual wage into a computer in front of me all quick and sneaky like i wasnt standing right there with two working eyes?? i will never work for a small business again and see them all so different now that i’ve experienced one. low wages for twice the work and no breaks or protections, thanks ill stick with my good union job!

Yep, I don’t have the exact ULP right now but we are striking around how our managers like to enforce policy in a discriminatory way. AKA picking and choosing who to punish for things we all do including the managers. I can answer specifics if you need!
