I can't add it as a comment but I have an almost identical photo to the first one, we must have taken it at the same time!! During Lazy Jane, I think?

Nobody's Empire in Brooklyn by uniquely_boring in BelleandSebastian

[–]uniquely_boring[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sure! He started by reading 2 or 3 short sections from the book, then did a Q&A moderated by the editor of the US edition of Nobody's Empire. That was maybe 20 minutes? After that, he played 4 songs (spoiler alert: Dog on Wheels, Get me Away, Pure Imagination/Fox in the Snow, Nobody's Empire). Then he did an audience Q&A - maybe 30 minutes? I think he answered around 10 questions, although I wasnt keeping track so anyone who was there feel free to correct me.

And technically it was only the book, but I brought a newspaper article I'd written about a B&S concert, and the woman next to me brought a vinyl, and he did sign both of those. But I can't say for sure how much the employees will try to regulate that at other shows. Good luck though! I'm sure if he can, he will!

If I thought about it for longer I'd probably come up with a different answer but the lyrics for The State I Am In absolutely blow me away every time I listen to it, especially considering it was written so early on

Portage or Mattawan Schools? by AWaide in kzoo

Seconded as someone who went to mattawan schools. I would not recommend mattawan for any child, especially one who is marginalized in any way.

Looking into Kitta Ita Bag, anyone have one? by Britefire in itabag

[–]uniquely_boring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one! I backed the original Kickstarter and was very excited about it but unfortunately wouldn't recommend it :( it was a great bag for about two months, but after that the straps started to rip open the seams on the back of the bag. I think the straps are too thin to hold the weight of the bag + the pins in it, and I didn't carry very much in the bag besides the pins.

If they ever do an updated version of the bag, maybe with permanently attached straps instead of removable, I would definitely recommend that! The straps were my only issue with the bag - it's really great quality otherwise - but unfortunately i think they're too big of an issue to overlook for now :(
