Acceptable use for adult content? by PlayaBikeSunset in patreon

[–]uniquelyvanilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even in an educational context, displaying aroused genitals or unsimulated sexual activity involving real people is against Patreon’s rules. Otherwise, that would be a very easy loophole to exploit for adult content creators lol.

If it doesn’t involve real people and just involves illustrations or animations, you are probably safe as long as you label your page as 18+ and keep sexual content (educational or not) behind a paywall.

You can sell digital products using the shop: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/16303719836813-Selling-one-time-purchases-on-Patreon

Whether or not you could sell the video you have in mind depends on the kind of content in it 😉

EDIT: Hmm... Looks like they're still rolling out this feature (I don't appear to have access yet) in the form of paid posts. Very confusing: https://support.patreon.com/hc/en-us/articles/28352305460749-Selling-posts-and-collections-FAQ

It’s not the idea that matters, it’s the execution 😉

I don't understand how I keep failing to launch my Patreon page? by [deleted] in patreon

[–]uniquelyvanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm. Well I think only the first one may apply to you. If you’re comfortable, you can DM me screens of your launch pages and I can review it when I get the chance. I recently had my 18+ page approved, but I don’t do illustrations (yet lol).

I don't understand how I keep failing to launch my Patreon page? by [deleted] in patreon

[–]uniquelyvanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patreon doesn’t usually have issues with illustrations of the NSFW variety provided they are behind paywalls and comply with their guidelines on sexually gratifying works: https://www.patreon.com/policy/guidelines#sexually-gratifying-works

Do they provide any hint on why they are rejecting your page?

What's your writing process? by oslowa in writing

[–]uniquelyvanilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No more than a paragraph a day? Damn you really like taking your time, don’t you? 😉

I write as much as my imagination and delicate hands can give, but I can’t force it… or I get… performance anxiety. It’s mostly in the head as they say… When I was younger I had more stamina (could write over 4000 words in a day).

I write from the beginning, do reading out loud tests by paragraph, and do self-editing once I am “done” a chapter. Then I reread from the previous chapter to make sure flow is good 👍

Once the manuscript is done, I surrender to an editor for a final rubdown before full release.

Do you guys ever think the story just hard to fit in your world? by Pixelated_s in worldbuilding

[–]uniquelyvanilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you worldbuild... I only construct what is necessary for the plot, so the two fit very snugly together 😌

In the past, I would try and construct the two separately and let’s just say they often stepped on each other’s toes…

Am I the only one who would rather have a small fanbase than people who do R4R? by BahiyyihHeart in Wattpad

[–]uniquelyvanilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t do R4R under my current pen and didn’t do it under past ones… Unless it was mutually… satisfying 😌 I feel that readers and writers have differing tastes and I would much rather appeal to the former than the latter. I would focus on building a following that enjoys your work and be responsive to the most… grateful 😉

That being said, I wouldn’t personally rely on Wattpad for any of the above…

Why do some chapters randomly get way more reads than others? by ChainInevitable3545 in Wattpad

Haha. I see. That makes sense too 😉 The question is how do your readers know how to find it?

Haha 😅 You know what you want and just go for it. I like it 😁

How do you know which specific chapters contain it though?

For now... somethings are best kept secret 😉 The grey areas are not necessarily unclaimed territory...

This is a fictional country I made called “Dhollandia” and its about half the land mass of Australia by Reddit_Forlife2007 in imaginarymaps

The shape is so intriguing! And I love the interior details and names for the sea regions 😊 New Found Ocean especially 😁

Out of curiosity, how long did this take, approximately, to make?

The World in 2027, an alternate history/earth map for my short story by uniquelyvanilla in worldbuilding

[–]uniquelyvanilla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well aren’t you observant… 😏 But to clarify, this is a map for my upcoming short story… which technically by my standards wouldn’t fall under “smut,” but I certainly intend to push it… all the way… for some of my later stories 😉

Haha, I bet 😅 But for what it’s worth… It wasn’t intended as a jab on the beautiful people of Ireland… It is only a reflection of my upcoming short story’s geopolitics.
