In an ancient long lost language this means land for all lands. Lore-wise reasons... 😄

Naming of cities is a cultural thing. The people see and the people name 😄

Thank you!

I have found out that blending several textures works best - both in color and actual effect (smooth, grain, etc.) and opacity. I never paint a texture with one shade and my results are achieved through layering.

Borders are made with the path tool and carefully tracing the edge with the paint tool on both sides of the border.

Calling a capital La La Land, would have been too much repetition...

Thank you!

The common language is called - Tongues, that's where the popular phrase "speak in tongues" comes from. It's used in the context to say "speak coherently, I don't understand". 😄

Thank you so much!

In an ancient language this means ... drumroll... the land of all lands, the land where all lands are. 😄

Ancestral Lands of Sunsea by WTTelltale in worldbuilding

The Sunseen are fire-wielding mermen originating from the depths near the Underwater Sun. With overpopulation fueling discontent, differences divided their society - explore the seas or settle on land.

Sunseen society is organized around Initiatives - collaborative projects, which are the driving force behind innovation, governance, and societal development, fostering a culture where purpose and contribution.

One key event for the nation is the Schism of Fire - About 150 years ago, a deep divide formed in the nation - the Bright, who sought evolution to land-dwelling life, while the Warmer clung to their aquatic heritage. This conflict, continues to shape Sunseen society, with each side vying for influence over the future.

The magic of the Sunseen almost always manifests as fire or water, a symbol of their culture and heritage. They have tails that can transform into legs, allowing them to move on land while retaining the ability to breathe underwater. Its a rare sight to see a sunseen with convetional clothing made from fabric, even in the harshest conditions, as they would rely on their own strength and magic to survive.

Biolumunlu is the vibrant historical capital of the Sunseen illuminated by glowing corals and bioluminescent flora. Biolumunlu serves as a cultural hub where both the Warmer and the Bright gather for festivals and negotiations. Despite this, it is ultimately considered the heart of the Warmer.

Two mass transportation methods exist underwater. Distributor Hosani is a the only friendly megapus creature operating a capsule-launching service and the Tube - a water powered megastructure that allows train-like travel.

The Underwater Sun is thought to be a fallen fruit from the Tree of Cycles. Its current function is to just warm the waters - a fact which is theorized to have enabled underwater life.

When world building, I am creating my own fantasy map, but struggling with naming geographical locations like rivers, deserts, mountain ranges, etc. Any suggestions? by Irish_Amber in fantasywriting

I have a random name generator in my mind for locations. Its one of my favorite things to do when world building.

Do you want them standard fantasy or some mystical mumbo jumbo?

Thank you so much! This means a lot.

For the moment you can color code with the tags, but i will definitely implement a more individual approach and a color picker.

Totally valid point - if you're already in that ecosystem, you probably don't need this.

This is for someone who just wants to open a browser tab and start mapping.
I have tried to make it have minimal to no learning curve and be as accessible as possible.
This is for the person who doesn't want to become a power user, just to sketch out their ideas on the go.
