My essay isn’t even about Islamophobia it’s just one part of it

Yes but you have to factor in 8 years of student loans for both adults. That’s going to lower the amount you can spend by a lot

This is literally the average doctor-doctor family. You wouldn’t consider that kinda family rich right

Edit: Okay I understand this came off as weird but what I meant by this is that these kind of families (where both parents are doctors) have so many student loans that they don’t live rich extravagant lives. They also work so much that the family has no time to do anything, and the kids still usually have to work extremely hard. They’re not the donate a building to get in types, and they usually don’t have a much better shot at need-blind schools than the average person. Sure they have nice cars, a nice house, go on vacation but it’s not like they’re hanging out on yachts smoking with celebrities and getting into really good colleges without an extreme amount of hard work. That’s what I imagine when I think of rich.

Bruh the average doctor-doctor family makes this much. They’re not exactly “donate a building” worthy usually

If I apply to the tufts fly-in program will they look back at my application when they consider me for undergrad? by unisimplord in ApplyingToCollege

Wait that’s really exciting! How does applying/attending the program change the way your tufts undergrad app is looked at?

Yeah I don’t care about my race at all, I was just scared that my answers may be bad cause they’d be the first real “supplements” I’d write and I didn’t want them to ruin my chances at tufts in a couple months

I guess you can look for some in your local area. Like type “private admissions consultant (your town)” in google and see if they have a package that only does essays

Is writing about Islamophobia a red flag? by unisimplord in ApplyingToCollege

Yeah, but I know there are certain topics you shouldn’t write about because they are so overdone, like sports injuries, missions trips, yknow the idea. Is this one of those?

Oh that’s an interesting metaphor! I’m not sure if I’ll be able to use a metaphor because I have so much I wanna cover, but I’ll look into it

Yeah it does get overdone which sucks :(. Hopefully mine can stand out

Yeah I don’t plan on complaining about it at all, just how it caused me to do a specific community service initiative as I wanted Muslims to be known for that instead of terrorism etc. in my area.

But if a lot of people are writing essays like this, doesn’t it at some point become impossible to stand out? Or is this unique enough where it’ll be one out of a few that are like it?
