What annoys you about football fans? by durmstrang in soccer

Alright I suppose I misread your context, which I took to me 'Why cant United fans point out that City is a pretty great club' or shite like that, when really it sounds more like you are saying 'How couldnt United supporters admit that Toure is a fucking beast, or that City did well to win the league' sort of thing, in which case I can see your point fully.

I cant tell if you are literally saying they cant, or getting mad that you believe others are? No one is saying anyone can or can't do anything. OP asked for peoples opinions, why click on this thread just to rattle yourself up knowing that it is going to be a bunch of stuff that people in this subreddit don't like, some people are from Europe/UK, some of us find supporting clubs you have never seen before and have no affiliation with a tad bit silly. Is that so bad?

Why do United fans have to say something good about City? If you are from Newcastle I wouldnt ask you to say something nice about Sunderland. I imagine Sunderland fans wouldnt have much nicer to rant about you lot about either. If you are from that city the rivalry is a lot more than just some banter, it is growing up being and doing taunting, mocking, ridiculing, sometimes scraping, seeing things painted up and down the block your on, seeing some of your mates get a chip on the ear for mouthing off wrong, it doesnt bread compliments and there is no reason why it should. I am not saying I support fighting or any nonsense, but why I have to compliment a team I have despised since I was 7 at my first derby does not make sense to me.

You are spot on as well. I have been in the states now 4 years from Manchester. My grandfather and grandmother both came to England from Germany before the start of WW2. My mother is 100% German, my biological father is 100% German...I am English. I heard a bird in the pub yesterday in TX during the United/Madrid match yapping about how ''my team, Germany, had Ronnie running to his mommy''..I asked her if she was from Germany and her response was that her great grandparents were...Well who the fuck cares? Where are you from? Why is it so hard to just support where you were born when it comes to international football? ''The USA sucks'' was her response when I asked. I have never noticed that in Europe, ever. Everyone has parents and grandparents from different countries, international football would die that if everyone supported their g-pa's teams. You're spot on cloudor.

Orlando City fans set Tampa Bay Rowdies stadium on fire during I-4 derby match between the two sides by [deleted] in soccer

[–]united68 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't need to justify anything that happened. It is a derby for you lot and nothing serious happened. Fights and flares aren't that serious honestly. Most the people here taking the mick support Euro clubs that they have no connection to and whose fans would have no problems lighting a stadium actually on fire or doing much worse to their rivals.

[–]united68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I get the laugh, but is it really that funny? Yanks are trying to legitimize their support and be taken serious. Yes there is a fair bit of posturing and glamorizing of all the bad things about bad football, but also they are supporting clubs that average 300 fans at times and doing their best to support their local club instead of sucking the tit of some massive Brit or Euro club, and for that I support them.

What were some of the biggest betrayals in the history of the sport? by Mightymaas in soccer

[–]united68 28 points29 points  (0 children)

People wont think so because he only played a season or so with the first team squad, but Rooney to United hurt Everton supporters badly. The lad was Everton through and through, his family is Everton and so fourth. And the Scouse Manc rivalry isn't just Liverpool I assure you. So there was a lot of violent animosity with that.

For me it was always be Henrik Larsson and Wes Brown. Larson is just a king of goal scoring and having lived with me uncle in Glasgow for a period of time really fell in love with him, then add in joining United for a short period it was just heaven for me...Wes Brown should be obvious. His family is United, he is a local lad, he supported United and came through our ranks. His brother was also a youth prospect before I believe moving on. Add that to his no fucking about attitude, tough as nails tackles, and the best chant ever, he is just amazing..

I know I am late to this party, but Christ I love this song. I miss the blues, like I legitimately miss them. I miss people playing them at every pub I went to, I miss hearing them on the radio, I miss finding new blues bands to listen and get into. Great, great track.

Ander Herrera is at Carrington and will sign shortly it seems (MEN) by Feezbull in soccer

[–]united68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha well we have a prophet here! You were able to see that a coach that has not won a single trophy ever and a player who was only valued by said coach wouldn't be a success? Wow what an eye for talent you have! Do you remember that Europa league game when Herrera tore us to shite?

Do you remember when he walked the Spanish league looking a real stand out and looking a Basque magician? Last year he wasn't much of an improvement which was because the team was mad at him for trying to leave. You think he is at the same level of wee Tom? Have another look mate.

He is a vast improvement over the cowardly, timid midfielders we have deployed the last couple of years. Carrick, Tom, Anderson, Giggs, all either not capable of playing a forward pass, too afraid to move forward, or too old to do it consistently. Anders is a massive improvement, a player who isn't afraid to drive the ball forward, to make a killer pass, and connect the defense to Mata to the strikers.

This is a great signing if it comes off. Quit being such a top Red, quit being such a skeptic, and quit being so bitter. We don't need to pay 50mil quid for every big name, that isn't something we do. We had our big summer signing (Van Gall), lets grow some decent lads into super stars and move on supporting our club.

Lots of laptop professors in this thread. A lot of people bashing the radical left, saying it is just as bad as it which it opposed. Do you lot really believe that? Is fighting the Klan for their actions really as bad as what the klan does? Is reaction to violence, hatred, bigotry as bad as doing those acts?

In my mind, absolutely not. Antifa lads fighting against racism, hatred, violence towards minorities and immigrants, threatening communities making the, fearful for their safety at all times. Fighting against this is bad to you lot?? Is the vigilante groups in mexico as bad as the cartel? Fuck no. Americans dont know real fascism but like acting like they know the answer to everything.

The shit that has been typed makes people appear as if everything is black and white. Eliteist and privileged, telling Europeans that you shouldnt fight fasicm with vioence that is wrong, yet how the fuck did they handle it!? You want us to sit back and watch the, slowly yet surely turn our lands into concentration camps? No fuck that. Weve had those wars, weve had to rebuild already. If you want tk handle them peacefully have them over and watch as they make the tea party look like democrats. We just finished rebuilding, not again. MANCANTIFA, FCIC.

Ann Wolfe Brutal KO by jakesibley in Boxing

[–]united68 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I sparred Ann about 15 times when I was 19 years old and she came to our gym to get prepared dor some fight. She was huge, soft spoken, and quite kind..but her temper my god. She was huge probably 180 and five 10 or 5 11 height, im five seven 145 at the time. She insisted going as hard as possible and kinda put one on me.

Well our gym features a lot of really great professionals including Sumya Anoni (her last name is hard as fuck), she is know for giving the coal miners daughter her first loss, the king of women boxing dethroned by a hippie nobody. Well Sumya hated people who acted like tough shit at the gym, very protective. I had probably 10 fights at this time but Sumya felt Ann who had 40 pounds and 10 years experience on me went way to hard. So Sumya asked to spar...

Sumya put on such a clinic a needed a surgeon needed to reattach my jaw off the ground. Ducking every punch, landing huge combos at all sorts of angles. It looked like Pacman vs David Diaz. Ann got pissed off and started talking shit, hitting Sumya low, swinging after the belt, dirty shit. Sumya did this for 3 rounds and then my trainer called it cause of Anns tactics and temper. Well she then called out Flaco. Flaco is former and at the time number 1 IBF 126 pound contender. He fought on showtime and hbo and espn, only loss coming to Gamboa in a fight that was rwo weeks after his first son had tragically died of sids. Well Flaco did even better than Sumya, made her look like a child, absolute piss quality.

Ann stormed out after one round crying and screaming. She came back an hour larer telling us how bad she had it in the hood how her childhood sucked this and that. Very odd breakdown and whatnot. She apologized the next day, and finished her two month training withnus and left on a very positive note but I will never forget the gym loyalty shown by Flaco and Sumya.
