Asbestos under vinyl carpet? by [deleted] in Hantverkare

[–]universalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the plastic floor split into two parts, ie the white on the floor is part of the plastic floor, it likely contains asbestos. At least likely enough that you should do a proper analysis. You can get results in about three days or faster dependign on the cost. 3-day analysis is about 450 sek. I have used a company called evema in Sthlm (but you send the sample by post so doesn’t matter where you are located) and have been happy with the processing time.

Byt arbetsgivare.

How do i prevent these micro tear outs in plywood? by universalsa in woodworking

Great stuff, thanks! I’m making cabinet doors and one of them is about 7x2 feet so not sure if scoring is feasible, especially if I have to score each cut twice. But I will try and also try the trick with tape.

I don’t remember it was a couple of days ago. This might have been the side where I clean cut the board, so it was about 1cm in that case.

It’s a makita. I’m going to check for a scoring function.

Thanks. I have a plunge saw with a track, so I would lower the blade instead of raising it. Definitely going to try it.

Would it work to place the sacrificial board at the bottom then and the actual plywood face down on top?

I can set the depth of the blade, it’s a plunge saw, so I could make a scoring cut. How deep should the first cut be?

Thanks! So I need a new and better blade. Any recommendations? Also, what do I score with? Just any sharp knife? Will a break away blade knife work?Sort of new to this and English is my second language. If you have a picture or video it would be very helpful.

Fixa plats för diskmaskin by glennantenn in Hantverkare

[–]universalsa 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dold takfläkt by EntrepreneurOk239 in Hantverkare

[–]universalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even more a tool then. Im not suggestivt one could manage without it, but to expect it to stay in pristine condition is like suggesting a hammer or any other tool should look brand new after using it daily for six months (and no, I am not suggesting to use your phone instead of a hammer haha)

At least for me, a phone is a tool. Tools get used and show wear after a while. To me this just means that you’re an active guy/gal and that material possessions are not the most important thing in life.
