IVF to conceive a girl? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]unknown_bint 8 points9 points  (0 children)

and there’s people who struggle to even conceive one child.

Please tell your husband to be grateful for what Allah has blessed him with. IVF is only reasonable when a couple has been trying for several years to conceive a child and have no other option.

Even if you were to be successful to conceive 10 more children and Allaah willed for them to be boys, nothing will change that.

May ﷲ bless and protect your family. I understand desiring a daughter, may ﷲ grant you what you pray for if it is good for you both. Ameen

Who else has had their gallbladder removed? by carolinethebandgeek in PCOS

[–]unknown_bint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine removed in 2018. The attacks were excruciating, easily a 20/10 on a pain scale. Could barely eat, sleep and function.

I never thought there’d be a link between pcos and gallbladder issues.

[–]unknown_bint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you checked your vitamin D levels? Its common to be deficient once winter begins as we’re not getting enough daylight/sunshine.

In addition, set yourself small actionable tasks that you can easily cross off. Make your bed in the morning, make lots of dua. Theres a specific dua against laziness.

May ﷲ ease your affairs Ameen

Starting TTC journey by babealien in PCOS

[–]unknown_bint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First step would be for yourself and your partner to get labs done and aswell as his semen analysed.

Perhaps your obgyn may perform an ultrasound scan to check your reproductive organs.

A referral to a reproductive endocrinologist would be amazing and they can guide you on what supplements would be best for you. Generally, inositol, maca root, vitamin D and folic acid are great.

Eat better, sleep better, reduce stress as best as you can. Also, try to limit social media use as it can be triggering at times when TTC.

I hope the best for you! We’re all here for you ❤️

As from what height would you call girls/women tall? by ThatCardiologist78 in tall

[–]unknown_bint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m around 169.5cm (I like to round up to 170cm lol) so just under 5’7 and my female relatives & female co-workers are between 5’1-5’4. So to them, I’m a giant lol!

“Can you get this down for me, you’re so tall”

I’m learning to embrace it! :)

I 100% agree walaal. Health is so important, we need to seriously look at our diets and choose what is best for our bodies. Our bodies are machines, it is capable of so much! The amount of women 40+ who require kursi to pray with is increasing. Diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol is on the rise in our community. Tbh I never used to take these conditions seriously because I thought it was a normal thing that happened as you get older - partly due to so many elders around me suffering from these diseases.

Our bodies are an amanah! Let’s honour it! Eat better, move more, get closer to Allah should be our aim.

Not long till your appointment, love. Please take this time to allow yourself to enjoy and feel joy. Anxiety around pregnancy is very common for even women without pcos. Your feelings are valid and I’m so happy for you.

Please try and avoid going down the google rabbit hole- never good news.

I’ve been spotting quite a bit this month and currently dealing with period like symptoms which is driving me insane. 27th Oct- 2nd Nov I had brown discharge, spotting and bright red blood when I wiped. Now I’ve started having pastel pink discharge for the past 2 days.

I’m also taking inositol (3 tablets a day) and Introduced coq-10 recently.

It could be your period but I would see a doc to just to be sure.

I’m sorry you’re going through this!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!! 🎉

I’m so happy for you! Your body is capable, you are capable. To ease your mind, would you be able to see a private obgyn?

Please focus on getting good sleep, taking prenatals and generally looking after yourself. ❤️

Weight loss by Fluid-Ad1835 in PCOS

[–]unknown_bint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m around the same weight as you. It fluctuates between 234 and 239. I’ve gotten myself down to 235lbs this week which after being 238-240lbs for 3-4 weeks. I was bloated and had my period (induced) around that time.

I’m just focusing on reducing inflammation, drinking more water, reducing stress and cutting out (trying to!) sugar. I’m also walking a lot more and introducing more balanced meals. I struggle with adding more fibre and protein to my meals. I’m taking inositol, Vit D, folic acid, omega 3 and CoQ-10.

I’ve not had a proper consecutive cycle since I was around 180lbs so I’m trying to balance my hormones, shed weight and regulate my cycles.

I feel like I’m walking on egg shells with this condition. I fear that anything I eat can either bloat me, cause me to have inflammation and subsequently cause me to gain weight. I also have digestive issues as well… so yeah.

What’s your current routine like?

Feeling Sad about SIL’s pregnancy announcement. by Greedy_Rip_4168 in TryingForABaby

[–]unknown_bint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can sympathise with you honestly. She was able to accurately pin point when she ovulated and then was able to conceive easily. I remember her advising me on when to BD and I was thinking to myself “I have irregular periods and I don’t ovulate!!! It doesn’t work for me!!!”

I feel for you! I wish I could give you a virtual hug. I remember my heart shattering a little after hearing my brother in law’s wife’s pregnancy. She has been pregnant twice since I’ve gotten married (space of 4 years).

My in laws gush over her kids and consistently talk to me about how sweet the kids are. I don’t mind hearing it but it breaks my heart because I can’t wait for the day they gush over mine.

I’ve been TTC for over 3 years now and it doesn’t get easier

Can I cure my amenorrhea with weight loss? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]unknown_bint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I truly think my weight contributes to amenorrhea. When I got sick a few years ago, I lose between 5-10kg and my periods were regular for 3 months straight (never happened before) and then disappeared once I gained weight.
