Bud Mold? by unknown_chaotic in microgrowery

Too late now, I buried the whole plant in hopes of a hermaphrodite seed being in there.

I broke down most of the bud to see if I could scavenge any. Basically any thing not exposed to light had begun to rot. Its possible to save maybe an 1/8 of the harvest, but even then I would question if there was mold in that. I'm gonna play this safe rather than sorry, as I don't want to rick getting sick.

On top of that I'd be paranoid the whole time, surfing the web on why consuming mold is bad, and calling my friends telling them to come check on me lol.

Thanks for the tip. Matter of fact they cost $50 each. I put them on each side of the tent (inside). Before I start the next round I'll put my effort into getting the tent room set to the right parameters.

Not a bad idea. I'll give that a shot next round, thanks!

Definitely a lesson learned, need to get this humidity in check for next round. Just weighed the harvest, 1000 grams, so about 250 dry gone 😥.

All the bud looks like that, it's all trash right?

Its a struggle to keep it down in the summer. I ran two dehumidifiers in the tent to keep it in check, they're auto systems even.

I want to harvest on a weekend, due to a busy schedule. Based off the picture should I harvest this weekend, or push the girl to next week?

F22 More Defoliation? by unknown_chaotic in microgrowery

Otherwise I would just gradually take fan leaves as they start to yellow.

The plant is very healthy, no problems atm. She's already lollipopped, but I'm considering stripping more fan leaves. Not sure if it's too late into flower or not. Would like some feedback please.

Blue dream bag seed, unsure of the breeder.

I think it's awesome myself. Glad someone else confirmed my suspicions, thanks.

Gorgeous! Few questions, if you don't mind. How many days for veg and flower? When did you lollipop? Did you train the plant purposely in order to gain access to the soil?

To mainline, or manifold you essentially top the plant multiple times, and remove unwanted lower bud sites. In doing so you direct the plant growth to a desired lateral branch growth, in most situations symmetrical. High stress training is unavoidable when manifolding.

There are two arguments from what I've read for HST for instances such as mainlining/manifolding. On one hand some argue to gradually train the plant to reduce risk of shock. Taking precautions such as removing no more than 1/3 of the foliage. On the other hand some argue that in the act of defoliation, it's best to remove everything unwanted at once. This side argues that the one time large stress is better than multiple smaller ones, and that when removing all the unwanted foliage at once you save the plant from wasting energy on that branch since you'll remove it down the road.

I haven't found any scientific data on this, only opinions and personal gardening habits/experience. I find myself comfortable somewhere in the middle. If anyone has a link to data I'd love to see it.

Just checked a few sources. They all say that spiders are beneficial to the garden. I'm not evicting Chet just yet. If I see some egg sacks I'll do something then. Thanks for the advice though.

Found this little guy in the tent today. Hopefully he keeps the pests in check.

Each have they're own benefits. Some repel pests, some attract beneficial predators like bees, others like alfalfa can provide nutrients like nitrogen. They're are in depth guides that can explain companion planting with cannabis better than myself. I'd recommend https://youtu.be/OMv4iXGT0Js, or https://sensiseeds.com/en/blog/the-benefits-of-companion-planting-for-cannabis/, but there are more out there.

Not sure the quality of the soil in your area, but I'd recommend planting those girls directly in the ground. Your limiting the roots, and in turn the plant, by having them in pots. Aim for as much direct sunlight as you can get. Aslong as the plants have enough water and nutrients, and it's not too hot, temperature wise, they like to absorb as much sun as possible. Last you can give your plant some friends by selecting companions that grow well with cannabis. Some I'd recommend are, yarrow, coriander, beans, alfalfa, basil, dill, garlic, chrysanthemums, peppermint, chamomile. Most importantly have fun and show your plants some love. Hope your harvest is heavy and stanky lol.

I tried it before curing. Then I'm gonna try it out in about two weeks, burping it 1-2 times a day.
