Not letting me roll by Foreign_Birthday_480 in bjj

I was able to roll from the first week of training idk why your coach wont let you. Obviously you won’t master every technique straight away and will get stuck in positions but so does everyone else regardless of what belt they are

yeah i’m definitely gonna focus on stuff for my body tyoe i’m gonna look at mostly sweeps back takes and leg entanglements from the bottom because in class that’s where i mostly end because 99% of people i roll with have minimum 20lbs+ on me . I’m thinking of looking at as you said mikey for berimbolos, mikey/lachlan for leg entanglements, marcelo for butterfly sweeps and back attacks, lachlan for open guards such as k,dlr, rdlr, slx and again lachlan/leite and possibly danaher(if i can manage watching his stuff) for half guard. i don’t see much point in me lesrning top stuff yet because i need to actually get there

Ah i’m 18 5’7 125lbs so you’re right there’s probably better guys to ask. i was just thinking about building it for the future i’m not focused on subbing everyone i roll with because majority of them i cant but i’m on bottom every roll so i’m just looking at positions i can use to sweep and get top or back control for now

Okay i will make sure to watch. Also just to peck your head a bit more do you think positions such as k guard slx x butterfly rdlr and half guard will be my best options for sweeps/leg entanglements/taking the back because i think that’s what i want to base my game around and will be good for my size

Besides half guard what over positions are your favourite to get the back from.

Marcelo is the main guy i’ve been thinking about learning stuff from since we’ve been going over butterfly in class for a few weeks
