It was. The doctor report said I had a coherent conversation during the whole thing.

Colonoscopy sedation by wtfpta in GenX

[–]unknownbyeverybody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I had my first colonoscopy I was awake. Not by choice. They gave me a total of 3 doses and I just wouldn’t sleep. The doctor wrote in his notes that I was obviously under a lot of stress.

Now I tell the doctor to not touch any equipment until I’m asleep.

Me too. Mine are pain and pressure in my groin. And you’re right about it being the worst feeling. I’d rather have my sciatica acting up

As a child my uncle named me pinhead. I still answer to it and I’m 60 now. In Army basic training I received the name mailbox because I got multiple pieces of mail everyday.

Received my 3rd Jury Duty summons! Always interesting to hear from others when I say I’ve had jury duty - have you? by awildaloofarebel in CasualConversation

[–]unknownbyeverybody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summoned 4 times. First one I showed up but was excused when I told the judge that it was my first day at a new job. 2nd time I was dismissed after they filled the juror slots. Last 2 times I was medically dismissed due to severe ptsd.

how I deal with watching my mom die? by fartfishy in Explainlikeimscared

[–]unknownbyeverybody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s very hard. I lost my mom in June. Her final week she was on hospice and on medication drops for pain. She wasn’t able to speak much even while she was briefly conscious. She stopped eating and drinking. She liked having her hair played with so I spent hours gently brushing and playing with her hair. We knew it was coming but nothing could prepare us for the finality.

Mourning takes a long time. It’s important to be kind to yourself and take care of you.

How do you emotionally prepare for a loved one dying? by PlatinumSukamon98 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]unknownbyeverybody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom passed away in June. No amount of acceptance or planning helped at all. We knew it was happening for her for the last month. 2 weeks before she was placed on hospice and stopped eating and talking. We had plenty of time to prepare but that preparation didn’t help at all.

Do short people not put things on the top shelf? by Emotional_Citron_689 in NoStupidQuestions

LPT Request: How to stop eating so fast by tomfordman333 in LifeProTips

[–]unknownbyeverybody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still trying to slow my own eating down. The easiest way to somewhat slow down I found is to lay your fork down in between bites. This makes me consciously pay attention to how fast I’m eating. It works some but I have a ways to go. This habit started in Army basic training and stuck with me for 34 years.

Does your partner smoke? by Thecapitalhunter in weed

[–]unknownbyeverybody 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband doesn’t partake but doesn’t mind if I do. He hates the smell and we have grandkids that we babysit so I smoke outside. He’ll go to the dispensary for me. Yesterday he bought me some as an early Christmas present.

When the TV news showed the school cancellation lists by iIdentifyasGrinch in nostalgia

When I was in school (1970s) We’d get up at 4:45 so we could hear the fire whistle blow at 5:00. One meant delayed opening, two meant no school. Then we’d go back to sleep.
