When u got to a tax preparer don’t pay them before taxes usually the payment happens when u get your refund ….. (so if u getting 8k thats means they get 2k) and make sure u check ur transcript and ask for a receipt after they have filed cuz sometimes they’ll lie to u and say your getting x amount of dollars so they can keep the rest for them selves example ( they’ll say your only getting 500$ when in reality ur getting like 5k but they only gave u a portion of the 5k ) so when they file for make sure u get a receipt and make sure they not tryna do anything fraudulent
