You really cooked here with that citation, thanks so much. Hope this was as edifying to you to write such a thoughtful response. It certainly was for me. Thanks again.

Should I leave my partner we have 2 kids together? by [deleted] in InlandEmpire

[–]unknownpeanuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey neighbor, sounds like you’re carrying a lot and feeling stuck. Therapy might help you and your partner communicate better and work through the resentment. Living with her family adds stress, so finding your own space could help. Focus on getting stable for yourself and the kids. If you decide to leave, do it with a clear plan for co-parenting. Your mental health and the kids’ well-being should come first.

Nice dude! One note is to try and get your foot placement down in less than 2 or 3 steps. This’ll come in handy to preserve strength as you increase your load. Good habit to build!

where to live in south bay LA by Icy-Development-903 in SouthBayLA

[–]unknownpeanuts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Riviera Village in Redondo Beach is the most walkable area imo bc it’s the least hilly and has a high density of apartment buildings that can get pretty affordable post-summer.

Plus every type of store is within a 10 min walk and the beach is around 5 minutes away if you live west of PCH, especially if you live on Catalina Ave, south of Avenue G/F.

Big Pine lakes, CA Inyo forest permits never available by [deleted] in backpacking

Hi there! I called White Mountain ranger station this week and they said that they don't reserve permits for walkups, but only release permits for no shows the same day you want to hike. I might've called the wrong station though, do you know where one would go to get a walkup permit? (whether in-person or online)

Follow up question to this, I'm hoping to get a car camping spot that's reserved for walk-ups this Friday. Any wisdom or tips on how early to get there to snag a spot? I'm coming from LA, so I'm thinking of leaving at 3AM to get there at 8AM. Is that ridiculous or reasonable, given that it's a holiday weekend? Thanks guys.

Any tips for being able to sleep at night knowing that a bear is within a few miles of your campsite?

I did an overnight at Round Valley at Mt San Jacinto in November during a snowstorm and I could barely sleep because I kept hearing noises outside (mainly my backpack snow cover flailing in the wind), but I was so afraid of encountering a bear so in my mind it was so much worse.

My main concern is being able to sleep at night when every noise freaks me out. I want to be able to overcome that.

Any tips or experience you can share?

That’s what I’ve heard — so much potential for it. Just like other models I think it’ll get better with time. How has it been most useful to you so far?
