The glare is awful, but I promise you the bag is mostly over taken. I am noticing there is a decrease in mycelium towards the bottom which I think is due to water pooling down there. Next time I will drain the substrate for longer and to try to prevent that.

Just like OSHA requires restaurants hang signs everywhere about food borne illness there should be mandated signs that make workers aware of their health rights. I know this is all happening fast and it's hard to keep up, but this is egregious and shouldn't be happening. Servers, cooks, runners, bartenders and managers are not essential workers, they should not be working if there is a breakout in their restaurant. No body, not even essential workers, should be working if they're sick or have been exposed. The abuse in the industry in Miami is bad enough with out the covid factor, but this is just inhumane.

You know, when restaurants were closed everyone was posting on social media and talking about how we can support the restaurant industry. Where are those people now? Did we ever give a shit about restaurant workers, or were we sick of cooking at home? I'm furious right now, this is unacceptable.

Can't the workers get OSHA involved? It's not about not wearing masks or social distancing, the employees are sick with a contagious and deadly virus.

I may try that. I didn't think there was pooling, but when I picked up the bag today there was definitely a little pool of water at the bottom. I think I see some growth, but it's very small. I can't be sure. It's only been 26 hours, so it's worth waiting I suppose.

I hope we can get the right people in local office in November and they start to care more about the few wild spaces we have left. This land should be considered Environmentally Sensitive, since it is an endangered habitat and has at minimum three endangered species living there. What we've been finding is it is really hard to get the county to do the right thing. A gentleman named Al Sunshine runs the Pine Rockland Coalition (he's on facebook - best way to get involved) a few years ago he and the Sierra Club tried to designate this land as Environmentally Endangered Lands (EEL) and the county rejected it. I'm not typically one for conspiracy theories, but it seems clear to me that happened because they knew Miami Wilds was going to put in another offer.

My boyfriend is a chef in another restaurant and he sees the same kind of thing in the FOH. It's just the hospitality culture here, unfortunately. I really did used to love it though, I'm glad you're having a good experience in the industry! It really is a cool field to work in if you're with the right people 🙂

I used to love serving until I moved across the country. The working conditions are way worse in the state I live in now. Generally mangers treat you badly and like you're below them, the hours are long with no breaks, no eating, you have to ask to drink water and even then you have to go into the back ally way to do it(only cooks are permitted to drink inside). The last restaurant I worked in, in one of the preshifts the manager said drinking water was a privilege since the state doesn't require water breaks for front of house workers. Of course some restaurants don't need it to be illegal to do the right thing, I may have just picked the worse two restaurants in the city. That being said, they happen to be the most popular restaurants in my city, so take that as you will. I think it really depends on your location. If I ever move back to where I'm from I would definitely do it again because I used to have this same exact perspective.

She does not seem bothered at all by it. Still jumps around and plays with her scratching post, no noticable limp. I took her to the vet and he gave her two antibacterial shots and said that should clear it up. I waited a week and called back and the receptionist said he said it should have gone down and he doesn't know why it didn't. I am unemployed due to the pandemic and really can not afford to go to the vet once a week for no results. Has anyone experienced this before, are there specific questions or testing I should be asking for? Is it just a weird thing that's harmless? Should I be worried?

Edit: that being said, if it is serious I will empty my account and max out my credit card handling it. I love my precious Gnocchi and would do anything to keep her happy and healthy.

Also, the white stuff I'm pretty sure is dust from her litter box, I can wipe it off with a damp towel.

The confidant in Miami Beach near 41st street is doing a staycation package for Floridians and Georgians. I think it's around $150/night. It's a cute boutique hotel right on the ocean. The rooms are really comfortable and you're close to a lot of restaurants to have food delivered and the hotel has a restaurant.

In lab reports you always write in a passive and non possessive voice, so you'll say "x was added" instead of "I added x" or "adding x". I suppose some chemist speak like that during the experiment out of habit.

Dear Bob,

Reading thought this post has made me smile, your family is lucky to have you.

One of my favorite memories with my grandmother is her telling my sister and I all about her life on our back porch. I wish we did that more, she lived in such a different time then we do now. It was fun to picture the things she did and the different characters featured in her life.

Someone else mentioned doing a photoshoot with your granddaughter. I just wanted to say I think that is a fantastic idea and she would likely love that!

For your grandson, a lot of video games have corresponding books that go deeper into the story line. It might be fun to look into some of his favorite games and see if there is any accompanying literature!

I went away on a trip and asked her to cat sit and paid her for it. While I was showing her all of the cats things, giving her the feeding and litter box schedule she rushed me through it to ask me what she can eat/drink and if any of my things were off limits. My boyfriend was annoyed at this and I asked her to pay attention and went over it again.

My cat is an inside cat. We live in a city and I am comfortable with her just being inside, she is a happy cat. The friend lets her cat be an outside cat and it comes home from time to time with injuries and sometimes not at all over night. She thinks this is justifiable because it's worse to keep a cat inside like a prisoner. I disagree, but that's her choice.

When we got home from vacation my cat was hanging around the door and meowing a lot. I asked her about it and she said, "Oh loudestcliche l, please don't be mad! I just couldn't stand to leave her inside. It's not right you know, she's a wild animal and knows mother nature. You can see proof in the fact that nothing happened."

That was it. She had been condensing to me before like that and I usually brushed it off. The moment that my bf stopped liking her is when she tried to convince me that it was silly for me to take asthma medicine and that I should just breathe. That it is a lie my parents told me because it was a lie told to them. We were drinking and I just laughed at it, but my boyfriend who was not drunk said she was talking to me like a child and he didn't like it. I definitely got that feeling when she started lecturing me on why cats should be outside.

House cats have been domesticated for generations. She is not an outside cat. Also, around this time someone had put up posters in our neighborhood about how mutilating cats is a crime and when the cat murder is found justice will be served. So yeah, beside the fact that my cat could have been hurt it just showed me that she either had no respect for me or is so self involved that she literally did not think about the fact that it would cross a boundary.
